The Detroit Red Wings and the Winnipeg Jets meet in NHL action from the Canada Life Arena on Wednesday night.

The Detroit Red Wings will look to build on a 5-3 win over the Boston Bruins that snapped a six-game losing streak. Dylan Larkin leads Detroit in scoring with 65 points including a team-high 30 goals while Tyler Bertuzzi has 54 points with 26 goals this season. Lucas Raymond has 53 points with 22 goals and 31 apples. Moritz Seider also has 40 assists so far this season. Alex Nedeljkovic is 18-21-8 with a 3.31 GAA and a .901 save percentage in goal for Detroit while Thomas Greiss is 8-12-1 with a 3.76 GAA and an .886 save percentage this season.

The Winnipeg Jets will try to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 3-2 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings last time out. Kyle Connor leads the Jets in scoring with 82 points including a team-high 41 goals and 41 assists while Pierre-Luc Dubois has 51 points with 25 goals and 26 assists. Mark Scheifele has 65 points with 26 goals and 39 assists and Brenden Dillon also has a team-best +15 plus/minus for the Jets this season. Blake Wheeler also has 42 assists while Connor Hellebuyck has made the majority of the starts in goal for Winnipeg, going 25-24-9 with a 2.92 GAA and a .912 save percentage this season.

Detroit is 19-74 in their last 93 road games and 14-39 in their last 53 games played on no rest while the over is 14-3 in their last 17 games played on no rest. Winnipeg is 5-2 in their last 7 games as a favorite and 6-1 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 while the over is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games against the Atlantic division.

I get the case to be made for an underdog in certain spots, but the problem here is that the Detroit Red Wings have honestly shown us little to feel comfortable backing them even at plus money or with a +1.5 headstart against anyone. On the flipside, the Winnipeg Jets have been far from convincing at home and I think this may be a bit more competitive than one would think on the surface. Give me the over as I just expect a lot of goals and very little defense.
