The Kansas City Chiefs and WR Tyreek Hill seem to be heading for a split.
News broke earlier that the Chiefs had given Hill permission to seek a trade and that two teams (the Dolphins and Jets) have been actively engaged in talks to acquire him. It seems like it’ll only be a matter of time before Kansas City trades Hill at this point.
Knowing that they’ll need to continue to add firepower on offense, the Chiefs are hosting Packers free agent receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Obviously, both players have their differences, namely in size, but they both have speed to burn. Valdes-Scantling ran a 4.37s 40-yard dash at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.
How would the #Chiefs begin to replace superstar Tyreek Hill? Sources say #Packers free-agent WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling is on his way to Kansas City today for a visit. No deal imminent, but a logical option to help fill the void. Speed for speed.

No deal to sign Valdes-Scantling imminent per Pelissero, but if a trade sending Hill to another team does come to fruition, it’d make a ton of sense for them to add another young receiver at the position. Scantling is just 27 years old and has some of his best football ahead of him after posting 59 catches for over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns in the last two seasons with Green Bay.
Kansas City is going to have a lot of work to do to replace one of their best offensive weapons and Valdes-Scantling would be a good start.
