Aaron Donald hasn’t yet officially announced that he’ll be back for the 2022 season, but it’s hard to believe he’ll walk away from the NFL at 30 years old after winning his first Super Bowl. Why? Because according to Andrew Whitworth, Donald was in the weight room one day after the Rams’ championship parade in Los Angeles – a parade in which AD lived it up shirtless with his teammates atop a bus.
Donald had the time of his life celebrating the Rams’ world title and was still tipsy when he went on James Corden’s “Late Late Show” after the parade. But he still didn’t take the next day off.
For us average humans, simply getting up after a day of drinking is daunting enough, let alone going to the gym and working out the way Donald does. Whitworth has also seen Donald at the team’s facility this offseason, an indication that he’ll probably be back in 2022.
“AD is one of those guys that does nothing but grind and work and for him to have that moment – he was one of the people, to me, it was almost like I had a hard time not just watching him because it was like all the work this guy puts in and everything he’s done to put us on the map year in and year out as a great football team, to watch him have that moment and enjoy it like that, it was so special,” Whitworth said on “Good Morning Football.” “I couldn’t be more proud for him and happy for him, but let me tell you something: He was in the weight room the next day getting after it. I’ve already seen him at the facility. This guy doesn’t stop. He’s unbelievable.”
Aaron Donald: built differently.
