What better way to start the weekend than by winning some money and building your bankroll for all the action to come over the next few days. We want to help you do that by seeing if we can pick out some winning plays from the Friday college basketball schedule. What makes Friday so interesting is that there are no ranked teams set to play, so these may be games where casual bettors of college basketball might choose to skip. We have scanned through the lineup to find some picks that we really like, and we will be sticking with either point spread or point total with these selections. Let’s get to it so you can get all set to bet against the College Basketball odds.
Friday NCAAB SU Picks that Will Put Money in Your Pocket
Pennsylvania Quakers (+3 ½) at Harvard Crimson
Let’s get the ball rolling by taking an underdog to cover the spread on the road on Friday night. The thing is, not only do I like Pennsylvania to cover, I think they might even take the SU win here. I’m playing it a little bit safer, though, by going the ATS route. This may be considered a bit of a risk given that they have failed to win in each of their last 6 games played away from home, but the Quakers have been a fantastic ATS pick when going against Ivy League schools, going 9-2 ATS in their last 11. Combine that with Harvard covering just once in their last 9 games and you have a bit of a perfect storm happening.
Akron Zips at Toledo Rockets (-8)
Both of these teams come into Friday night sporting some very respectable overall records on the season. Toledo has the best record of the 2, sitting at 16-4 right now, plus they are unbeaten in their won building, going 8-0 at home. You could play it safe and simply take the moneyline, but this is all about trying to win at better odds. With that in mind, I am taking a bit of a risk and going with the Rockets against the spread. They have covered in 8 of their last 10 meetings with Akron, but perhaps more importantly, they have covered in each of their last 7 games overall, while Akron has covered just once in their last 5.
Fairfield Stags at Rider Broncs (OVER 134 ½)
Lets’ close this one out by looking at a game that could deliver on the point total. At first glance, you might look at this one as being a definite under pick, but a deeper dive into recent games of both teams shows that this one might be better suited to the OVER. Fairfield saw their last outing go OVER the point total when it was in about the same point range as this game. The under tends to hit for them when the total is at 140 or higher. It is almost exactly the same story with Rider, who are also coming off an OVER game when the total was about the same as this one. Fairfield also tends to see the OVER hit more often when they play on the road, so let’s take a chance with this game and play the OVER.
