Florida State Seminoles linebacker DJ Lundy was ready for a new scene after he entered the transfer portal in December.

The redshirt junior, who also has found snaps at fullback with the Seminoles, intended to explore other options and had the Colorado Buffaloes on his list. He had committed to play for Deion Sanders as he announced as part of the once-again Big 12 program’s signing class with a page set up on the team’s official website. Lundy didn’t even play in FSU’s bowl game against Georgia.

However, he has had a brutal change of mind.

The Florida State linebacker is returning back to the program as he announced on social media.

Sanders and his staff will look to fill the void left by Lundy’s exit. He’s a next-level defender.

Lundy became a key player on the Seminoles’ defense this past season, tallying 54 tackles with six tackles for loss and two sacks. He also had an interception, helping Florida State win the ACC title.

He’s played in 44 career games for the Seminoles, racking up 183 tackles and 16.5 tackles for loss.

Now, Lundy heads back to Tallahassee for his final collegiate year in 2024.
