The New England Patriots enter the final week of the 2023-2024 regular season with a 4-12 record. No matter what happens in Week 18, this will be the worst season ever under head coach Bill Belichick.

The Patriots failed once again to make the playoffs and be a winning team as they continue to be a bad team since the departure of Tom Brady.

Many reports have stated that Bill Belichick is on his way out.

During this Friday’s appearance on FS1’s “The Herd,” former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman shot down the idea of Belichick heading to the Carolina Panthers, but then he mentioned that the coach should head to Dallas to coach the Cowboys.

“What about Dallas? What if Mike McCarthy gets knocked out of the playoffs early? Bill over there with that Top 10 offensive line and talent … they’d at least be fundamentally sound,” Edelman said, via Cowboys Country. “McCarthy gets a lot of penalties and that clock management … in the game against the Lions the moment just looked too big.”

Edelman spent his entire career with the Patriots, winning three Super Bowls and a Super Bowl MVP while finishing his career ranked second in franchise history in receptions and fourth in receiving yards.

Belichick’s next chance for a win will come Sunday but it won’t do anything to help him keep his job should the Patriots decide to part ways.

The 71-year-old Belichick (302-164) is 27 wins shy of surpassing Don Shula for the NFL record. It appears that will happen with another franchise.
