Deshaun Watson could be out for several more games, according to a new report.

The Cleveland Browns quarterback is set to miss a second straight game with a shoulder issue, with Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reporting that he has since been diagnosed with a right rotator cuff contusion. Cabot describes the injury as “a deep contusion that presents or functions more like a strain.”

She adds that the QB will not return to playing until he is able to throw without feeling any pain.

Watson sustained the injury during a game against the Tennessee Titans on September 24. He was cleared by team doctors on October 3 as there was no structural damage to his shoulder, however, he is required to rest and participate in minimal throwing exercises.

The 28-year-old is reported to have gone through some light throwing this week.

It was initially thought that the injury was a bone bruise and that Watson would have rejoined the lineup quickly. But the prognosis changed when he experienced significant pain and weakness during a pregame warmup ahead of the Browns’ Week 4 clash against the Baltimore Ravens.
