About Last Night

Kraken take down the Bruins
The Seattle Kraken beat the Boston Bruins on Thursday to win their 7th straight game and hand Boston their first home loss in regulation for 29 games. There was no fluke about it either, as Seattle won each period 1-0 for a stunning 3-0 victory.

Gonzaga holds off BYU
#8 Gonzaga just avoided an upset by BYU last night, holding on to win 75-74, but #7 UCLA and #9 Arizona both recorded more comfortable wins.

Today’s Slate

Big night in the NBA
There’s a 9-game slate in the NBA tonight a it makes the most of the spotlight before the focus is on the NFL over the weekend. Warriors vs Spurs at 7:30 pm ET and Nuggets vs Clippers at 10:00pm ET are being shown on ESPN.

Jets vs Penguins on NHL Network
It’s a small slate in NHL today with just 3 games, featuring Jets vs Penguins at 7:00pm ET on NHL Network.

There’s college hoops and soccer, too
Nebraska vs Purdue is the top college basketball game today (7:00 pm ET, BTN), and you can check out our coverage of today’s college basketball plus our soccer picks, which include a play for today’s Aston Villa vs Leeds EPL game (3:00pm ET, USA Network).

Best Bet of the Day

NBA: San Antonio Spurs +8 vs Golden State Warriors
7:30 pm ET, ESPN

A record-breaking attendance is expected for tonight’s game as 64,387 tickets have been sold as the Warriors and Spurs meet up at the Alamodome. The Warriors are on a 3-game losing streak following their embarrassing 125-113 loss to a Suns team without 4 starters. Now they’re on the road, where they have a 3-16 SU record this season, the worst mark in the NBA. The Spurs are 1-6 in their last 7 games overall, but they’ve held their ground pretty well over the last 3, losing by just 6, 8 and 5 points against Memphis (twice) and the Boston Celtics. They’ve covered the spread in 5 straight games.
