The Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Angels meet in MLB action from Angel Stadium on Monday.

The Boston Red Sox will look to build on their sweep of the Oakland A’s after a 5-2 win over Oakland in their last matchup. Xander Bogaerts has 64 hits, a .323 batting average and 14 doubles while Rafael Devers has 77 hits with 22 doubles and Enrique Hernandez also has 16 doubles. Alex Verdugo has 3 home runs and 28 RBIs while Devers has a team-high 12 home runs and 31 RBIs and Hernandez also has 23 RBIs. J.D. Martinez also has 18 doubles, a .353 batting average and 23 RBIs this year and Trevor Story has a team-high 40 RBIs as well for Boston. Michael Wacha is expected to start here and is 3-1 with a 2.43 ERA and 27 strikeouts this season.

The Los Angeles Angels will hope to snap a double-digit losing skid after a 9-7 loss to Philadelphia in their last game. Mike Trout has 49 hits, 13 doubles and 13 home runs while Jared Walsh has a team-high 33 RBIs and Brandon Marsh has 27 RBIs. Shohei Ohtani has 50 hits while adding 10 doubles, 11 home runs and 32 RBIs. Taylor Ward also has a .333 batting average as well this season. Noah Syndergaard is expected to start here and is 4-3 with a 4.02 ERA and 27 strikeouts this season.

Boston is 7-0 in their last 7 games against the AL West and 4-1 in their last 5 road games while the over is 18-5-3 in their last 26 games against the AL West. Los Angeles is 3-14 in their last 17 games overall and 0-8 in their last 8 games against the AL East while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games as a home favorite.

I get the reasoning for backing either side here, but I’m leaning towards the Red Sox. Los Angeles has all of the talent and this double-digit losing skid is bordering on unexplainable. However, the numbers are what they are and there has to be something going on why this team is struggling the way they are. Noah Syndergaard’s also been roughed up over the last few starts as well. Boston has played their best on the road so far this season and I think getting plus money to fade a team on a double-digit losing skid is too good to pass on. Give me the Red Sox here.
