The Kansas City Chiefs continue to meet with draft prospects ahead of the 2022 NFL draft by way of private workout or top-30 visit.

The latest player that the team is looking into is a small-school cornerback. According to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, the Chiefs have either a visit or workout scheduled with Ouachita Baptist CB Gregory Junior. If it’s a top-30 visit, he’ll head to 1 Arrowhead Drive. If it’s a workout, members of the scouting department or coaching staff will meet him elsewhere to put him through position drills and the like.

A Division II standout, Junior put together a strong career at OBU. In 43 career games played (33 starts), he managed over 100 tackles, an interception, 24 passes defended and a safety.

The 6-foot, 202-pound cornerback was a standout at the Senior Bowl back in February, where he was the first player in Ouachita Baptist history to be invited to the game. Not only did he flash in man coverage against tougher competition throughout the practice week, but he also had a great game. According to PFF, he allowed just one reception on two targets for five yards during the game.

Junior was not invited to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, but he had a strong performance at his pro day at OBU. He posted a 4.46s 40-yard dash, hit a 39-inch vertical, a 123-inch broad jump, a 6.97s 3-cone and a 4.17s shuttle run, with 18 repetitions of 225 on the bench press.

In the NFL, Junior has the makings of a multiphase special teamer and a developmental cornerback. While he didn’t look out of his depth at the Senior Bowl, often staying in phase with receivers, he did have a hard time locating the ball in tight coverage.
