The Los Angeles Angels and the Miami Marlins meet in MLB action from LoanDepot Park on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Angels come into this one looking to rebound after being swept by the Houston Astros following a 4-2 loss in Sunday’s series finale. Mike Trout has 70 hits, 17 doubles, 47 RBIs and 23 home runs while Jared Walsh has 40 RBIs and Brandon Marsh has 31 RBIs. Shohei Ohtani has 77 hits while adding 15 doubles, 18 home runs and 51 RBIs. Taylor Ward also has a .308 batting average as well this season. Noah Syndergaard will start here and is 5-6 with a 3.86 ERA and 47 strikeouts this season.

The Miami Marlins will hope to keep the momentum going after sweeping Washington with a 3-2 win on Monday. Jesus Sanchez has 50 hits along with 3 triples, 11 home runs, 29 RBIs and a .215 batting average. Jazz Chisholm Jr. has 10 doubles and 4 triples as well as 14 home runs and 45 RBIs as well this season. Jorge Soler has 13 doubles with 13 home runs of his own and Garrett Cooper has 79 hits, a .315 batting average and 20 doubles while Jesus Aguilar also has 68 hits of his own this season. Sandy Alcantara will start here and is 8-3 with a 1.95 ERA and 97 strikeouts this season.

Los Angeles is 10-27 in their last 37 games overall and 8-22 in their last 30 games following a loss while the over is 6-1-1 in their last 8 games against the NL East. Miami is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall and 7-2 in their last 9 home games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 series-opening games.

I get why you’d look at either side here, but I’m looking at the under. A lot of Sandy Alcantara’s recent outings have been low-scoring duels and that’s not likely to change against an Angels team that’s once again ice cold over the last week. On the flipside, Noah Syndergaard’s struggled on the road, but the Marlins aren’t exactly lighting up the scoreboard every night and I think we could have another battle here. Give me the under.
