Best New York Jets vs Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown scorer bets: Garrett Wilson keeps on rolling

PICKWISE

In what could quietly be one of the better games of Week 7, the New York Jets will travel to Pittsburgh for a date against the Steelers in a pivotal primetime matchup for both teams on Sunday Night Football. The Jets are coming off a loss to the Bills on Monday, while the Steelers have had a bit of momentum after defeating the Raiders in Las Vegas last week. The handicap on this game seems to be a solid spot to buy the Jets given the situation, but that’s not what I’ll be focusing on in this piece.

Be sure to also check out our Steelers vs Jets predictions, but now let’s take a look at my favorite anytime touchdown scorer picks for this primetime game, which includes a pair of wide receivers.

Garrett Wilson, WR, NYJ (+225 at FanDuel)

A lot has happened within the Jets organization since New York last played against the Bills on Monday Night Football, including a trade for Devante Adams. Therefore, much of the discussion around the Jets heading into this game is centered around the connection between Aaron Rodgers and Adams — which is exactly why backing Wilson at this inflated number is my recommendation for this game. I’m expecting Adams to be used as a decoy, especially considering he is not confirmed to be 100% healthy heading into Sunday’s contest. Given that Wilson has racked up a whopping 21 receptions on 33 targets for 208 yards and a couple of touchdowns over the past 2 weeks, anything close to that level of volume should be enough to give us a ton of value with this number. Let’s back the Jets’ top wideout (for now) to find the endzone once again.

Najee Harris, RB, PIT (+145 at FanDuel)

As for the home team, there isn’t much to like with the Steelers’ passing game — especially against a Jets secondary that is easily the strength of this defense at the moment. Additionally, Russell Wilson is expected to be under center for this contest despite Pittsburgh having some real success with Justin Fields leading the offense this season. With an aging veteran under center and the Steelers facing a Jets run defense that has been disappointing to this point, there should be plenty of opportunities for Harris to get the ball — particularly if Pittsburgh is able to find the red zone. While Harris has just 1 touchdown this season, he also tallied 104 yards on just 14 attempts and scored that TD last weekend against Las Vegas. Look for Harris to ride that wave of momentum into the endzone once again on Sunday.
