The opportunists appear to be circling the New York Jets right now after their big trade.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Saturday that a number of NFL teams have inquired with the Jets about the status of star wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Schefter notes though that the Jets, though they have heard from interested teams, do not plan to trade away the 24-year-old Wilson.

Wilson was the No. 10 overall pick by the Jets in 2022 and has had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career. But Wilson has been knocked down the totem pole in New York amidst the arrival of Davante Adams in a blockbuster trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams is a six-time NFL Pro Bowler with plenty of familiarity with Jets star Aaron Rodgers (his former quarterback in Green Bay) and is thus expected to take over as the team’s new No. 1 receiver.

It cannot hurt for opposing teams to ask about Wilson, especially those who would be willing to shell out a hefty new contract for him (Wilson’s rookie deal only runs through the 2025 season). But for the time being, it appears those teams will have more success trying to land this Jets receiver instead.
