Let’s finish the weekend with three of our computer’s best bets today in the MLB. Below, you’ll find one of the three bets that has value with today’s later portion of the slate, with the best MLB odds we could find at the top sportsbooks.

The AI Model has the Astros earning a 4.2-3.8 win over the Orioles tonight. With Houston at -115 on the moneyline, the Astros certainly are the valuable play for tonight’s ESPN game.

 Houston Astros vs. Baltimore Orioles

Sunday, August 25, 2024 – 07:10 PM ET at Oriole Park at Camden Yards

There’s No Hitting Yusei Kikuchi

The Houston Astros will send out lefty Yusei Kikuchi for tonight’s game. He’s a lefty who has struck out 31% of batters over the last month.

While the strikeouts are high, he’s also held his last 116 batters to a .132 ISO and wOBA of .288. Kikuchi has also kept walks to 7.8% this season.

He’ll battle an Orioles lineup that has struck out nearly 23% of the time with only 5.9% of walks over the last month against lefties. Beyond that, the lineup has five batters with strikeout rates of at least 25% against lefties over the previous month.

Righties Can Hit Kremer

The Orioles will ride it out with Dean Kremer. Kremer is a right-handed pitcher who has struggled more against righties over the last 30 days. He’s allowed a .163 ISO and wOBA of .320 over the previous month to righties. In addition, he’s allowed 29.3% of fly balls and has only induced 36.6% of ground balls against righties.

He’ll battle some red-hot righties like Alex Bregman and Yainer Diaz tonight. Those two can do enough damage alone to help the Astros escape with a win.

MLB Computer Pick

I’m with the AI Model here. Consider the Astros at -115 to win tonight’s national TV game.
