Tom Brady was a player unlike any other, and the New England Patriots are treating him accordingly.

The Patriots held a sold-out ceremony at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. on Wednesday night to honor Brady, who played for the team from 2000-2019. During the ceremony, Brady’s jersey was retired. No player will wear jersey No. 12 again for the Patriots in honor of Brady. Brady was also inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame.

The Patriots are announced that they are doing something for Brady they have never done for anyone else: they are making a statue of him.

The Pats will have a 12-foot statue of Brady go up during the 2024 season.

“We wanted the greatest to be the greatest to receive even a greater honor. So last year we commissioned a local sculptor to create a larger-than-life bronze statue to perpertuate the legendary legacy of this once-in-a-lifetime player,” Patriots owner Robert Kraft said during the celebration Wednesday.

The statue will stand alone in the plaza outside the team’s Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium, according to Kraft.

The statue is as deserved as it gets for a player. Brady led the Patriots to six Super Bowl titles, nine Super Bowl appearances and 17 division titles. He later won a seventh Super Bowl as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
