7-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady continues to break records even after hanging up his cleats.

The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback had a pair of his pants sell for a record $89,100 at a recently concluded Grey Flannel auction, according to Cllct Media’s Darren Rovell. The pants were from Brady’s final game when his Buccaneers lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round of the 2022 playoffs.

Brady’s pants sold for far less than the jersey he wore during the same game. The 15-time Pro Bowler’s final jersey sold for 1.39 million at Sotheby’s in November.

The price paid for Brady’s pants was the highest ever for a pair of trousers in NFL history. Only MLB legend Babe Ruth has had game-used pants sell for a higher price.

Pants worn by “The Great Bambino” during the 1921 season sold for $183,500 back in 2012 — the most for a pair of pants in sports auction history. Another pair of Ruth’s pants sold for $90,000 two years later.

As long as Brady doesn’t unretire for a second time, the pants will probably retain their value for decades to come.
