The Los Angeles Rams are the latest NFL team to suffer some concerning news on the injury front.

According to Greg Beacham of the Associated Press, 2021 Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp left Tuesday night’s practice with an injury. Immediate details of the injury weren’t known, head coach Sean McVay said.

The Rams can only hope that the injury to Kupp is not serious. The offense struggled all season long in 2022, and their slim playoff hopes were done for once he went down with an ankle injury that sidelined him for the remaining eight regular season games.

With limited cap space, GM Les Snead wasn’t able to do much to address the receiver room. Los Angeles will rely on 2021 standout Van Jefferson, third-year wideout Tutu Atwell and recent free agent pickup Demarcus Robinson to help out Kupp in the pass-catching department.

The Rams finished a disappointing 5-12 in 2022, marking the most losses in a season by a defending Super Bowl champion. Star quarterback Matthew Stafford and defensive tackle Aaron Donald also missed significant time last season.

Kupp won 2021 Offensive Player of the Year honors after finishing as the NFL’s leader in catches (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16). He caught the game-winning touchdown pass against Stafford in Super Bowl 56 against the Cincinnati Bengals to cap off one of the greatest wideout seasons in history.

In nine games last season, Kupp had 75 catches for 812 yards and six receiving touchdowns.
