The Colorado Rockies (24-31) and San Francisco Giants (29-25) meet  Wednesday for the second game of a 3-game series at Oracle Park. First pitch is slated for a 9:45 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Rockies vs. Giants odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: San Francisco leads 5-2. Colorado took game 1 of this series 5-3 Tuesday.

The Rockies had notched a 6.16 ERA over its previous 26 games, but RHP German Marquez and 3 relievers combined to pitch 8 scoreless innings after the Giants scored 3 runs in the first inning Tuesday.

The Giants were perhaps sleepwalking through much of Tuesday’s game in which they managed all of 5 hits. Tuesday’s affair was a return home after a 10-game road trip to Cincinnati, Philadelphia, and Miami.

Rockies at Giants picks and predictions

Prediction

Giants 5, Rockies 3

Money line

PASS: the best leverage to be had here is on a low-scoring game with a line watch on the run line.

Run line/Against the spread

Colorado is tough on southpaws, but Wood’s success against the Rockies is compelling. The San Francisco port-sider has been unduly hurt by a .353 batting average on balls in play and a high rate of fly balls leaving the yard.

PASS for now, but keep an eye on this one. A play on the Giants at +100 or better has leverage.

Over/Under

Figure both offenses being a bit too far out over their skis overall. Depending on the starters, this series sets up as one for Unders having value. That angle produced a win Tuesday.

Both starters have been working through the amped-up traffic of high batting averages on balls in play.

BACK THE UNDER 8.5 (-102).
