The San Francisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies meet in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night.

The San Francisco Giants come into this one looking to build on their 5-4 win over Philadelphia from Monday’s series opener. Joc Pederson leads the Giants with 11 home runs and 27 RBIs while Wilmer Flores has 40 hits with 27 RBIs of his own, 10 doubles and a .258 batting average. Thairo Estrada has 44 hits with a team-high 12 doubles and 20 RBIs as well this season. Mike Yastrzemski also has 10 doubles of his own as well as a .298 batting average on the year. Jakob Junis will start here and is 2-1 with a 2.76 ERA and 24 strikeouts this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look to rebound after losing four straight, six of seven and eight of ten after Monday’s defeat. Bryce Harper leads the Phillies with 53 hits including 17 doubles, 10 home runs and 32 RBIs while Nick Castellanos has 49 hits with 12 doubles and 28 RBIs. Kyle Schwarber also has 11 home runs and 23 RBIs as well while Alec Bohm’s posting a .269 batting average so far this season. Ranger Suarez will get the start here and is 4-3 with a 4.74 ERA and 37 strikeouts this season.

San Francisco is 40-15 in their last 55 games against a team with a losing record and 3-7 in their last 10 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a left-handed starter. Philadelphia is 1-5 in their last 6 games overall and 1-6 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 home games.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this one, but the Phillies don’t really deserve to be a favorite here in my opinion as they’ve done nothing but burn a hole in people’s pockets this season and Ranger Suarez really hasn’t been anything special this season. Jakob Junis is always capable of a blowup, but he seems to really enjoy pitching for San Francisco and this seems like a spot where the Giants can take advantage of Suarez’s dip in from and grab a win at a nice plus money price.
