The New York Rangers and the Carolina Hurricanes meet in game seven of their NHL second round series in action from the PNC Arena on Monday night.

The New York Rangers will look to grab the first road win of the series and take the set after forcing game seven with a 5-2 win over the Hurricanes last time out. Mika Zibanejad and Adam Fox each have 16 points with Zibanejad logging 7 goals and 9 assists while Fox has a team-high 12 assists this postseason. Andrew Copp and Artemi Panarin each have 10 points with Copp split between 5 goals and 5 assist and Panarin adding 4 goals and 6 assists. Igor Shesterkin’s gone 7-5 in the postseason with a 2.74 GAA and a .926 save percentage this postseason.

The Carolina Hurricanes will be out to maintain home ice and win the series after their loss on the road in game six. Teuvo Teravainen leads Carolina with 11 points with 4 goals and 7 assists while Sebastian Aho has 10 points with 4 goals of his own as well as 6 assists. Vincent Trocheck and Tony DeAngelo each have 9 points with Trocheck logging 5 goals and 4 assists and DeAngelo logging 8 assists as well this postseason. Antti Raanta has gone 6-5 with a 2.20 GAA and a .924 save percentage this postseason.

New York is 0-6 in their last 6 games as an underdog and 0-5 in their last 5 games as a road underdog while the under is 7-1-1 in their last 9 playoff games as an underdog. Carolina is 44-14 in their last 58 games as a home favorite and 13-6 in their last 19 games overall while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this one, but I’m leaning more towards the under here. Sure, game six went over the total, but this has been an under series for the most part and I think we could see a more cautious approach here as neither side is the one that. Wants to be the first to blink and have to chase in game seven. Give me the under here.
