Some in the Know Almost “100-Percent” Sure NBA Resumes Without Fans

On a recent podcast, LeBron James, whom everyone agrees speaks for the players in the league, said that he couldn’t imagine a sporting event without fans. But, that’s not likely to happen. If the NBA does resume, those in the know like Brian Windhorst of ESPN is almost positive that it will resume without fans.

The key for any sports league to resume play is to first ensure a safe environment for players, coaches, and television crews. Like the NFL, NHL, and MLB, television contracts bring the most revenue to the National Basketball Association. ABC, TNT, and ESPN will want to ensure that their employees are safe from Covid-19 exposure.

We’re a long way from actual play in the NBA. Luckily for fans, there’s a blueprint.

NBA Could Follow the Chinese Basketball Association’s Lead

The CBA hoped to resume play the first week of April. They moved that to April 15. Now, the Chinese Basketball Association has said that they’re resuming play either in May or June.

Just last week, the Chinese Basketball Association recalled American players back to China. That’s great news. NBA players like Jeremy Lin and Lance Stephenson should have landed in China, or are in the process of going back to their place of employment.

If the 3-month period the Chinese Basketball Association appears to be working on is the same for professional basketball in the U.S., the NBA could resume in late May or early June. That’s the time-period the NBA has discussed in closed-door discussions with owners.

Like CBA, NBA Could Cluster Teams in 2 Cities

It’s important for the NBA to at least have the 2020 playoffs. That’s not even a discussion. Executives have taken a 20% pay cut. Soon, players may also take a pay cut. The NBA will resume playing this season.

When the NBA does, the play could resemble what the Chinese may do. Although nothing is set in stone, the CBA most likely will create a bubble where games are played in a round-robin format in just 1 or 2 cities.

The NBA could do this. Per Windhorst, the NBA could play at a casino property in Las Vegas, somewhere in the Bahamas, or at a college campus in the Midwest. Owners and players may agree to play at all 3 of those locations.

It all depends. No matter the decision, it will be nice to at least view NBA games on television. It will also be great for NBA bettors like us to get back to wagering on games.

NBA Will Pay Salaries Due April 1, But After That…

The NBA has committed to paying player salaries due on April’s Fools Day. That’s the first of April. But after that, things could get dicey. In the latest collective-bargaining agreement, players signed off on a 1.08% salary reduction in times of war or, in this case, a pandemic.

That could kick into gear for April 15 paychecks. However, it most likely won’t. Why? The league must cancel games first. And, so far, that hasn’t happened. Which brings us to the next important update.

Players Won’t Let Their Salaries Go Out the Window

NBA players won’t let money drain from their bank accounts. Like everyone in the U.S., a single lost paycheck could have a drastic effect. Don’t be fooled. Just because NBA Players make more money than average Americans, it doesn’t mean they put that money into a safe.

Some probably did, but most invested it in the stock market or other ventures. The golden goose has turned to brass. So, NBA Players need their paychecks just like the rest of us. And just like the rest of us, they want to go back to work.

NBA Players Will Go Back to Work, And It Could Be Sooner Than We Think

Based on this message from Dr. Oz, there’s hope for fast treatment. Oz believes that two pills could turn Covid-19 into “the flu”. If that’s the case, a ramp-up of production of the 2 pills could lead to a viable treatment plan.

Not only that but a quick perusal of the old Worldometer, and the picture in the U.S. is clear. By far, New York is the hardest-hit state. The National Basketball Association could find ways to play games outside of New York.

NBA Has Discussed Permanent Schedule Change in the Past

Although the likeliest scenario remains the NBA going straight to the playoffs once safe, there’s a chance the league plays the rest of their regular-season games. A huge clue is that the NBA has yet to cancel a single game this season. That sounds strange considering the effect Covid-19 has had on other major sports leagues.

Another clue is that Adam Silver said in a recent interview that NBA owners had discussed changing seasonal dates anyhow. Per Silver, the NBA knows that summer isn’t what it used to be. Fans can watch NBA games anywhere. Even lounging on the beach!

So, who knows? Maybe, the league has seriously considered playing out the rest of the regular season with limited fans, or no fans at all. More information regarding the NBA’s plans should come down this week. We’ll provide it to you in next week’s update.

NBA Awards If Season Ended Today

With the 2019-20 NBA regular season on hold and basketball lovers like you likely curled up in the fetal position because of the lack of roundball action,  you’re going to have a brief, light-hearted moment to take your mind off of the global coronavirus pandemic that is sweeping the globe thanks to this fun-filled look at the 2020 NBA awards Odds that would be handed out if the season ended today!

NBA Awards If Season Ended Today

With that said, let’s get started with what wins championships in the NBA – defense!

Defensive Player of the Year NBA Odds

The Defensive Player of the Year Race looks like a done deal to me with reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo as my winner over reigning two-time winner Rudy Gobert, Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons and the LA Lakers Anthony Davis.

While it is the Greek Freak’s nearly unlimited offensive ability that garners him the lion’s share of the adoration he gets, make no mistake about it, Antetokounmpo is a fierce competitor at the defensive end of the floor.

Milwaukee’s main man can do it all at the defensive end of the floor, from jumping into passing lanes for timely steals and meets opponents at the rim with regularity when he isn’t chasing them down for highlight-reel making blocks. Opponents are only scoring 96.5 points per 100 possessions against Milwaukee with him on the floor and his outstanding defense hasn’t taken away from his game at the offensive end of the floor.

For Gobert, his blocks are down to 2.0 per game which is his lowest number since his rookie season in 2013-14. Anthony Davis doesn’t necessarily show up every night – nor does he show up when it matters most in the fourth quarter. My No. 2 finisher is Philadelphia point guard Ben Simmons, a player that can and often does, guard every position on the floor for the Sixers. Still, for me, Giannis is the clear-cut winner here!

  • Pick Defensive Player of the Year NBA Odds: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee Bucks

Most Improved Player of the Year NBA Odds

While it’s a virtual certainty that Miami Heat forward Bam Adebayo will win the league’s official MOP award, I’m thinking this one could very well go to New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram or Charlotte Hornets point guard Devonte Graham. Adebayo is averaging a career-high 16.2 points and 10.5 rebounds while chipping in 5.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.3 blocks per game after putting up just 6.9 points per game as a rookie two years ago and 8.9 points per game last season.

Graham is averaging 18.2 points and 7.5 assists per game, although he’s shooting an ice-cold 38.2 percent from the field in his second season with one of the league’s worst franchises. This is a huge jump for a player that didn’t even average 15 minutes per game a year ago.

While the arrival of Zion Williamson has garnered all of the headlines in New Orleans, it is now, fourth-year shooting guard Brandon Ingram that has made the leap from good to really, good this season by upping his scoring average from 18.2 points per game a year ago to 24.3 points per contest while shooting a solid 46.6 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from beyond the arc. Ingram has improved his free throw shooting percentage from the high 60s to 85.8 percent this season. Yes, he’s in his fourth season and that alone will rule him out for this award in the eyes of many, but really, Ingram’s improvement this season has been as good, if not better, than almost anyone’s.

In the end though, I’m going with Adebayo simply because I don’t think anyone ever suspected we’d see anywhere near the all-around skillset that we’re seeing from the blossoming third-year star. Make no mistake about it, the future is as bright for Adebayo as it is for any of the game’s young stars.

  • Pick Most Improved Player of the Year NBA Odds: Bam Adebayo – Miami Heat

Coach Of the Year NBA Odds

I won’t waste a lot of time beating around the bush since there’s only one pick to win this year’s NBA Coach of the Year award – and that would be none other than Toronto’s Nick Nurse. Despite losing superstar leader Kawhi Leonard after he led the franchise to a stunning upset of Golden State in last season’s NBA Finals, Toronto has remained one of the best teams in the league and it’s been no accident. Nurse has been absolutely masterful in leading his team in a new direction as Pascal Siakim, Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet have become the central figures of a raptors team that has looked like a real finals contender all season long. At the hiatus continues, Toronto has the league’s third best record (46-18) and No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race. All of that talk about Toronto taking a big step backwards this season has been complete hogwash and that’s in large part because of the coaching of Nick Nurse.

  • Pick Coach Of the Year NBA Odds: Nick Nurse – Toronto Raptors

Rookie Of The Year NBA Odds

This one is a no-brainer as well with electrifying Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant the easy winner of the Rookie of the Year Award. The former Murray State floor leader and No. 2 overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft is averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 assists per game while shooting a blistering 49.1 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from beyond the arc. Just as important as his highlight reel making plays has been his singularly focused desire on winning which has the Grizz in the eighth and final spot in the race for a playoff berth in the loaded Western Conference. While Zion Williamson looks like he’s going to have a fine career, he’s also played in just 19 games and that’s not nearly enough for him to win this award even if he is putting up an impressive 23.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

  • Pick Rookie Of The Year NBA Odds: – Ja Morant – Memphis Grizzlies

Sixth Man of the Year NBA Odds

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Dennis Schröder has averaged double digits in scoring in six straight seasons, including the 19.4 points per game he put up for Atlanta in 2017-18. Still as the Thunder’s sixth man, the 2013 first round draft pick has found a new lease on life be coming off the bench to put up 19.0 points per game on while shooting 38.1 percent from beyond the arc.  Schröder leads all reserves in points off the bench per game and looks like the guy that will bring Lou Williams’ two-year reign as Sixth Man of the Year Award to a screeching halt.

  • Pick Sixth Man of the Year NBA Odds: Dennis Schröder – Oklahoma City Thunder

MVP NBA Odds

Sure, there’s been a groundswell of support for LeBron James to win this award seeing as how the four-time league MVP is putting up 27.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game in his 17th season, but for me, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo is my pick to claim his second straight league MVP award. The Greek Freak is averaging 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game while adding one steal and one block per game this season. Simply put, Antetokounmpo is the best player on the best team in the league and he does all of this without the help of a legitimate second superstar sidekick.

  • Pick MVP NBA Odds: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee Bucks

The Most Defining Moments of the NBA 2020 Season

The 2019-20 NBA season might be on hold as the covid-19 pandemic sweeps the globe, but even if the league’s current campaign doesn’t resume, basketball fans and betting enthusiasts everywhere have had a wild ride of a season that will go down as one of the most memorable ever for, both, its, on-court exploits and off-court headline-making events. The 74th season is league history began on October 22, 2019 and was suspended on March 11, 2020. Now, Let’s get started with a look at the league’s most defining moments this season.

The Most Defining Moments of the NBA 2020 Season

Opening Night

LeBron Vs. Kawhi I

The Lakers and Clippers square off in their first meeting on opening night and it didn’t disappoint as Kawhi Leonard and the new-look Clippers subdued LeBron James and the similarly new-look Lakers 112-102. While new Laker Anthony Davis scored a team-high 30 points and James added 28 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, Paul George scored a game-high 31 points while Leonard added 27 in the convincing win. Message delivered.

Impressive Openings

In the Eastern Conference, Atlanta Hawks young point guard Trae Young went off to win Player of the Week honors while Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl Anthony Towns displayed a new three-point shot that won him the award out west.

Over the next five weeks, four different players in both conferences would have monster weeks to win the award including Giannis Antetokounmpo (twice) and James Harden (twice). Then, in December, Jimmy Butler and the blossoming Bam Adebayo would go ‘back-to-back’ to claim Player of the Week in the east before Kyle Lowry, Jaylen Brown and the Greek Freak closed out the month with a bang. Out west, after Luka Doncic made his presence felt with a string of triple-doubles and Carmelo Anthony had a monster week in Portland, Davis and James won consecutive Player of the Week honors before Dennis Schröder and Brandon Ingram would add their names to the Player of the Week role call while James capped off the month with his second standout week.

To kick off January, Josh Richardson and Ben Simmons won consecutive Play of the Week honors for Philadelphia while Toronto’s  Pascal Siakim and Boston’s Jaylen Brown has monster weeks to cap off the month. Out west, Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan and Kawhi Leonard won back to back Player of the Week honors before an absolutely stunning, record-setting run by Portland superstar point guard Damian Lillard won him consecutive Player of the Weeks awards out west to cap off the month.

Christmas Gifts Delivered

The NBA’s Christmas Day lineup of five games didn’t disappoint and a handful of ‘presents’ were delivered that day. The Celtics took out Toronto in a matchup of two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia stunned Milwaukee as Joel Embiid had a monster game. The reloading Warriors pulled off the big upset over James Harden and the offensive-minded Rockets and New Orleans upset Denver in a stunner. However, the game everyone really wanted to see didn’t disappoint as the Clippers beat the Lakers for the second time 111-106, More importunately, Kawhi Leonard was clearly the best player on the floor as he put up 35 points and 12 rebounds while LeBron James was limited to 23 points and Anthony Davis, 24 points.

Lillard Lights It Up

Beginning with a stupendous 61-point explosion against Golden State on Jan. 20, Lillard scored a mesmerizing 293 points over the next six games while dropping 47 on Dallas, 50 against Indiana, 48 against the Lakers and 51 against Utah. Lillard’s 49 3-pointers during his streak were the most of any six-game stretch in NBA history. Lillard joined James Harden and Kobe Bryant as the only players to score at least 293 points over a six-game span in the last 20 years.

Kobe Bryant Dies

Tragically, the NBA was rocked on the morning of Jan. 26, when reports of Kobe Bryant’s death came out. The NBA legend along with his daughter, Gianna, and seven other passengers all perished in a helicopter crash, in Calabasas that sent shock waves throughout the league.  No games were postponed outside the Lakers’ meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers, but there were tributes for Bryant throughout the league and across the globe.

Zion Debuts

After being forced to miss the start of the season because of a knee injury, No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson made his debut for the New Orleans Pelicans by putting up 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists and five turnovers in 18 minutes in a narrow, 121-117 loss to San Antonio.

The All-Star Game

With everyone connected to the NBA still in mourning over the loss of Bryant, the league implemented some new rules at this year’s all-star game that made the annual affair a lot better and far more competitive than we’ve seen in past years. After three quarters of play, 24 points—in honor of Bryant—were added to the leading team’s total to create the target score to attain. With no shot clock in the final frame, the Elam ending was a huge success as Team LeBron eked out a narrow 157-155 win over Team Giannis.

Jayson Tatum Reaches Next Level

Starting with a 41-point effort against New Orleans on Jan. 11 Boston Celtics all-star forward Jayson Tatum started heating up in a big way. However, it was on Feb. 1 that the blossoming young star started going completely bonkers with a 25-point night against Philly. In 12 games during the month, Tatum scored 30 or more six times while putting up a career-high 41 against LeBron James and the Lakers in a nationally-televised showdown on Feb. 23. For the month of February,

Tatum averaged a stellar 30.7 points per game to become the fifth player in team history to average 30 points a game in one month, with a minimum of 10 games played. Tatum joins the legendary Larry Bird, Isaiah Thomas, Paul Pierce and the late John Havlicek as the only players to accomplish the feat.

This season, Tatum is averaging a career-high 23.5 points per game. He also holds the distinction of being the first player in NBA history to hold career averages of more than 17.0 points per game in the regular season and 17.0 points per game in the postseason for a player under the age of 21.

LeBron Vs. Kawhi III

On March 8, you’d think the Lakers would have won the championship after beating the Clippers for the first time in three meetings, 112-103 as LeBron James put up 28, 8 and 9 and Anthony Davis contributed a team-high 30 points. Paul George (31) and Kawhi Leonard (27) also combined for 58 points in the loss.

Rudy Gobert Tests Positive – Season Suspended

On March 11, the NBA suspended its regular season after Utah jazz all-star center and two-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert tested positive for Covid-19, also known as the novel coronavirus. The test result came just ahead of tip-off for the Jazz’s game at the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Chesapeake Energy Arena. The game was canceled.

NBA Denver Nuggets 2020 Season Analysis

After their stunning regular season success a year ago and ensuing failures in last season’s playoff, the Denver Nuggets entered the 2019-20 NBA regular season with one goal in mind. Winning the Western Conference championship. While Denver remains a legitimate title contender out west, they’ve also been surpassed by two teams, both in the standings and in oddsmakers eyes as potential conference and NBA Finals champions. While the current regular season is on hold as we come to grips with the covid-19 pandemic, if and when the 2019-20 regular season does get underway, the Nuggets will be looking to push a pair of western conference powerhouses to the side in order to reach their intended destination. With that thought in mind, let’s take a look at what’s gone down for Denver already this season and what could lie ahead if or when the regular season resumes. Here’s an overview of the Denver Nuggets 2020 season so far with NBA Odds and NBA Championship Odds.

NBA Denver Nuggets 2020 Season Analysis

Denver Nuggets Offensive Analysis

Denver ranks an uninspiring 20th in scoring (110.4 ppg) despite ranking an impressive sixth in field goal shooting percentage (47.1%) and decent 15th in three-point shooting percentage (35.8%). All-star center Nikola Jokic is putting up a team-high 20.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists while gifted shooting guard Jamal Murray is adding 18.8 points per contest. Will Barton, Paul Millsap and Jerami Grant also average double figures in scoring for the Nuggets.

Denver Nuggets Defensive Analysis

The Nuggets have been rock-solid defensively in limiting the opposition to 107.4 points per game (8th) while ranking a modest 14th in field goal shooting defense (45.9%) and eighth in three-point field goal defense (34.6%). Four players average at least 1.1 steals per game while three others are just off that figure.

Denver Nuggets Offseason Movements

Signed coach Michael Malone to a contract extension through the 2022-23 season. Agreed to terms with F Vlatko Cancara on a multiyear contract. Signed G Jamal Murray to the five-year contract extension, through the 2024-25 season. Obtained F Jerami Grant from the Oklahoma City Thunder for a 2020 first round pick. Waived G Gerald Green.

Denver Nuggets Prediction

The Nuggets have been rock-solid at home (25-8), but they’ve struggled on the road in going just 18-14. Still, Denver has gone 26-13 against their Western Conference rivals although they were struggling by going just 5-5 over their last 10 games before the league’s suspension.

While the Nuggets have a real superstar in the do-it-all Jokic, Denver really needs Jamal Murray to take the next step toward all-star status and they could definitely use more depth on the bench. I’d personally like to see young power forward Michael Porter Jr. get more playing time, but outside of that, the Nuggets just don’t have the quality depth they need on the bench in order to take down conference rivals like the Lakers and Clippers and possibly some other offensively explosive teams like Houston or even Dallas. Last but not least, the current suspension could be a good thing for a Nuggets team that has seen Paul Millsap miss 21 games, Porter Jr. miss 17 contests and talented backup shooting guard Malik Beasley miss 24 contests.

If the Nuggets can improve their offensive production, they could challenge both of their Los Angeles-based conference rivals, but I’m thinking that’s a stretch, simply because they don’t have a second all-star on the roster or many players that create their own shot off the dribble. Another 50-win season was a near lock before the hiatus, but in the end, no matter how hard I try to envision it, I just can’t see the Nuggets making the jump to conference champions.

NBA Utah Jazz 2020 Season Analysis

The Utah Jazz have been a perennially-solid franchise that has reached the postseason in each of the last three seasons and eight of the last 13 overall. Along the way, the Jazz have won six of their eight first round playoff series while reaching the western conference semis in two of the last three seasons. However, following their first round smackdown loss against Houston last season, the Jazz entered the 2019-20 campaign resolving to take the next step toward being a legitimate NBA Finals contender. Here’s an overview of the Utah Jazz 2020 season so far with NBA Odds and NBA Championship Odds.

Utah Jazz 2020 Season Analysis

While the current regular season is on hiatus, if or when the NBA does get back underway, the Jazz will be looking to resume their quest to claim the western conference crown. With that thought in mind, let’s find out what’s gone down for Utah so far this season and what could lie ahead for the championship hopefuls.

Utah Jazz Offensive Analysis

The Jazz are currently 41-23 and in second place in the northwest division and fourth place in the western conference playoff standings. Offensively, Utah is ranked a modest 17th in scoring (111.0 ppg), fourth in field goal shooting percentage (47.5%) and second in three-point shooting (38.3%). All-star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell is putting up a team-high 24.2 points per game while sweet-shooting forward Bojan Bogdanovic is putting up 20-2 points per contest in 41.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Veterans Jordan Clarkson and Rudy Gobert both average an identical 15.1 points per game.

Utah Jazz Defensive Analysis

The Jazz have been solid, if not quite as good as they’ve been in the past defensively. Utah ranks ninth in points allowed (107.9 ppg), 11th in field goal shooting defense (45.2%) and 12th in three-point defense (35.1%). Defensively, the Jazz are led by the reigning two-time Defensive Player of the Year in Gobert who averages 13.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.

Utah Jazz Offseason Movements

Traded Dante Exum for Jordan Clarkson. Signed Juwan Morgan as a free agent. Signed Isaac Hayes as a free agent. Waiver forward Mike Scott. Waived guard Trevon Bluiett.

Utah Jazz Prediction

Utah has been equally impressive in going 21-10 at home and 20-13 on the road this season. While the Jazz went 5-5 in their last 10 games before the league suspension, they did manage to win five of their last six and nine of their last 14 games overall while taking out the likes of the playoff-bound Rockets, Mavs and Celtics along the way. Still though, Utah has lost their way defensively by allowing 113 points or more nine times over their last 14 games.

For a team that routinely relied on shutting down their opponents and one that is offensively limited outside the quartet of Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson, it’s not a good sign for if or when the regular season resumes.  In the end, I’m expecting Utah’s playoff run to come to a crashing halt against one of the western conference’s better offensive ballclubs, much like each of their last three playoff appearances.

NBA Sacramento Kings 2020 Season Analysis

The Sacramento Kings haven’t made the playoffs since the 2005-06 season and most likely aren’t going to this year, either, as they have taken a small step back under first-year coach Luke Walton. The Kings were 28-36 before the NBA season was postponed. Here’s an overview of their season. Here’s an overview of the Sacramento Kings 2020 season so far with NBA Odds and NBA Championship Odds.

NBA Sacramento Kings 2020 Season Analysis

Sacramento Kings Team Analysis

The Kings sure look like they blew it by firing coach Dave Joerger after last season and replacing him with Luke Walton. After all, Kings last year had their winningest season since 2005-06. The veteran coach posted a 39-43 record in his final year at the helm of the Kings and a 98-143 record overall.

Sacramento got off to a horrible start under Walton, whom GM Vlade Divac had wanted to interview Walton for the opening three years ago before hiring Joerger but never got that chance as Walton took the job with the Lakers instead. He wasn’t going to miss his chance again. Divac called Walton one of his basketball “soul mates,” who embraces the same philosophies in style of play and building culture on a team. They were teammates on the Lakers in 2004-05.

To be fair to Walton, the Kings were playing a lot better in the past few weeks to make a playoff push. They team has dealt with some injuries as well, mainly to forward Marvin Bagley III. Bagley, the No. 2 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, has appeared in only 13 games this season, averaging 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds.

It was questionable whether Bagley would play again this season as entering the suspension of play he had missed 29 of the last 33 games due to a left midfoot sprain. Bagley had not been ruled out for the remainder of the season, but there was still no timetable for his return. Perhaps Bagley might be able play when the season does return. Bagley was on the All-Rookie first team in the 2018-19 season, averaging 14.9 points and 7.6 rebounds.

Underrated big man Richaun Holmes also missed several games with a shoulder injury but had returned right before the break. In one game this season, Holmes became the first Kings player to total nine or more rebounds on the offensive end since DeMarcus Cousins who had 10 offensive rebounds on Mar. 24, 2015. Holmes has posted 20 points and 15 rebounds in two games this season, which is the most by a Kings player since Cousins had seven games.

Sacramento Kings Key Numbers & Key Players

Sacramento and Oklahoma City are the only teams this season with two wins in games where they faced a deficit of 20+ points. Since returning from the All-Star break, the Kings were 7-3. They were one of six teams with at least seven wins since coming back from the break; the Kings are tied for the fourth highest winning percentage after the All-Star break.

In those 10 games, the Kings were averaging 114.8 points, 24.4 assists, 8.6 steals and just 12.7 turnovers per game, and are tied fourth in turnovers per game over that span. The Kings have been solid defensively over the 10-game period, posting a defensive rating of 110.1 over which is 11th in the NBA during that time as opponents are averaging just 111.5 points per game. The Kings also rank ninth in the NBA in free throws made per game since returning from the All-Star break as Sacramento is averaging 19.3 made free throws per game over that stretch.

Point guard De’Aron Fox is one of five players this season to record 25 points, 10 assists and five rebounds in consecutive games along with Mavericks guard Luka Doncic, Lakers forward LeBron James and Rockets guards James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

Fox is currently averaging 20.4 points, 6.8 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game and could join Reggie Theus as the only players in franchise history to post 17.0 points, 7.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game in multiple seasons while appearing in 58 games or more. Fox could also become the fifth player to average 20.0 points and 7.0 assists per game in at least 58 games in franchise history and the first since Theus averaged 20.3 points and 8.8 assists per game during the 1986-87 season. Fox could become the first Kings player to average to 7.0 assists per game in back-to-back seasons since Kenny Smith (1987-89).

Buddy Hield has totaled 244 makes from 3-point range this season, second in the NBA. Hield is on pace to make 313 3-point field goals, which would surpass his previous franchise record of 278 treys as the fourth-year guard, Rockets guard James Harden, Heat forward Duncan Robinson and Hield are the only players this season on pace to make 300+ 3s in a single season. Only two players in NBA history.

Hield is just the fourth player in franchise history to make 700 3-point field goals and he has the most 3s by a player through their first four seasons eclipsing Damian Lillard (828) on Mar. 3 vs. Washington. In his 296th career game vs. San Antonio on Jan. 8, Hield made nine 3-point field goals to become the quickest player to reach 800 3-pointers as Stephen Curry was previously the record holder as it took him 305 career games.

Sacramento Kings Playoffs panorama and Championship Odds

If the playoffs started today, the Kings would not be in the field. Sacramento, which is 3.5 games behind No. 8 Memphis in the West, is +100000 to win an NBA title.

NBA New Orleans Pelicans 2020 Season Analysis

This season is going to be a success for the New Orleans Pelicans regardless because they have a future superstar in rookie Zion Williamson and did quite well in the Anthony Davis trade with the Lakers. The Pelicans were 28-36 before the NBA season was postponed. Here’s an overview of their season. Here’s an overview of the New Orleans Pelicans 2020 season so far with NBA Odds and NBA Championship Odds.

NBA New Orleans Pelicans 2020 Season Analysis

New Orleans Pelicans Team Analysis

The Pelicans were making their final push for the playoffs when the league was suspended. New Orleans had won eight of its past 13 games and was looking at a favorable schedule over the league’s final month. In that span, Zion Williamson was averaging 25.9 points per game on 61.0% shooting, while Lonzo Ball was averaging 14.2 points while shooting 46.3% from deep.

This season almost is irrelevant because the Pelicans are on the rise behind the rookie Williamson and a breakout season from Brandon Ingram, part of the Anthony Davis trade from the Lakers. While New Orleans isn’t likely to reach the playoffs this summer, this is a potential powerhouse in two seasons.

Zion already is one of the most popular players in the NBA and showed his leadership by pledging to cover the salaries of all Smoothie King Center workers in New Orleans for 30 days following the NBA suspension: “My mother has always set an example for me about being respectful for others and being grateful for what we have,” Williamson said with his pledge. “These are the folks who make our games possible, creating the perfect environment for our fans and everyone involved in the organization. Unfortunately, many of them are still recovering from long term challenges created by Katrina, and now face the economic impact of the postponement of games because of the virus.” Very cool!

The rookie entered the NBA like a wrecking ball after suffering a preseason injury that required surgery and has not looked back. Williamson is averaging 23.6 points and 6.8 rebounds while thrilling crowds nightly with his highlight reel dunks. He is 17.3 points in the paint, ranked 2nd in the NBA; 4.4 second-chance points, ranked 4th in the NBA; and 4.2 fast-break points, ranked 6th in the NBA.

JJ Redick (hamstring) will likely be healthy by the time the season resumes, and that could mean a near-complete roster for New Orleans — outside of Darius Miller’s Achilles injury — for the first time all season. Redick was injured in late February and like to miss at least three weeks. He ranks 14th in the NBA in 3.0 three-pointers made per game and second in three-point field goal percentage (45.2).

New Orleans Pelicans Key Numbers & Key Players

Williamson became the first rookie since Michael Jordan to post 16 20-point games within their first 20 career games. Zion was the first teenager in NBA history to record three 30-point games in their first 15 career games. He needed the third-fewest total games played (14) needed for his first 10-game streak with 20 points, trailing only Wilt Chamberlain and Elvin Hayes (10 each) and George Mikan (11).

Zion had the 4th fewest games needed for his first career 30-point game, and the fastest since Allen Iverson (1996-97). Williamson also became the third player with seven 20-point games in his first 10 career games over the last 30 seasons, joining Grant Hill and Shaquille O’Neal, and the first player since Ron Harper (1986-87) to do it within his first 9 games.

Ingram was the likely Most Improved Player in the NBA. Ingram was on pace this season to cement career-highs in points (24.3), 3-point shooting (38.7%), rebounds (6.3), assists (4.3) and minutes (34.8). After posting at least 17 points, five rebounds and five assists in a combined seven games through his first three NBA seasons, Ingram accomplished that feat 17 times this season.

In the 17 games that the Pelicans have started Lonzo Ball, Jrue Holiday, Ingram, Williamson and Derrick Favors, that line has shown it can be among the best in the league. That group holds an offensive rating of 117.9, which is the 11th best five-man lineup in the NBA with at least 100 minutes together and would rank 2.0 points higher than the best ranked offensive team in the NBA (Dallas – 115.9).

Those five hold a defensive rating of 91.6, which is the 2nd best five-man lineup in the NBA that has played at least 100 minutes together, and is 10.0 points lower than the best ranked defensive team in the NBA (Milwaukee – 101.6).

Their net rating of 26.3, which is the 2nd best among five-man lineups with at least 100 minutes played together, and is 15.6 points higher than the highest rated net rating for teams in the NBA (Milwaukee – 10.7

NBA Portland Trail Blazers 2020 Season Analysis

The Portland Trail Blazers reached the Western Conference Finals last season, but took a big step back this year for a few reasons – including injuries. One of the West’s biggest disappointments for sure. The Blazers were 29-37 before the NBA season was postponed. Here’s an overview of their season. Here’s an overview of the Portland Trail Blazers 2020 season so far with NBA Odds and NBA Championship Odds.

NBA Portland Trail Blazers 2020 Season Analysis

Portland Trail Blazers Team Analysis

Portland has one of the NBA’s best backcourts in Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, but they are thin up front and that’s a big reason why the team has underachieved. Top center Jusuf Nurkic was hurt late last season and hadn’t played yet this season – but was expected to debut on March 15 so that’s a cruel irony with the season being suspended.

On March 25, 2019, the Trail Blazers were engaged in a brutal double-overtime game at home against the Brooklyn Nets. With under three minutes remaining in the game, Nurkic fell to the ground, his lower left leg twisted at an unnatural angle. Nurkic suffered compound fractures to his left tibia and fibula, similar to an injury suffered by Paul George in 2014 when he was playing for the Pacers.

The skilled 7-footer averaged 15.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 blocks while shooting 50.8 percent from the field and 77.3 percent from the free-throw line last season. Nurkic had 36 double-doubles and one triple-double in 2018-19.

The Blazers also have dealt with serious injuries to Zach Collins and Rodney Hood this year. Collins dislocated his shoulder in the third quarter of a game in Dallas on Oct. 27. He had surgery and was set to miss four months; in theory, if the season resumes he should be ready.  The 21-year-old averaged 9 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in three games.

Hood suffered a torn Achilles in early December vs. the Lakers that ended his season. Hood was having one the best seasons of his career, averaging 11.5 points per game while shooting 49% on 3-pointers, third-best in the NBA.

Portland Trail Blazers Key Numbers & Key Players

Portland is 4-0 this season when four players score 20-plus points. It last happened on March 10 when Lillard (25 points), (22 points), Trevor Ariza (22 points) and Carmelo Anthony (21 points) all hit the mark.

Lillard shot 3-of-5 from 30 feet or further against at the Suns on March 10. For the season, Lillard is shooting 43.0% on those shots (49-of-114). His 49 three-pointers from 30 feet or further lead the NBA. Lillard ranks fourth in the NBA in three-pointers made (226). His 226 three-pointers are the fourth-most in a season in franchise history. He needs 12 three-pointers to break his own franchise record for three-pointers in a season (237, 2018-19).

Lillard scored at least 20 points in 23 straight games from Jan. 3-March 6, representing the longest streak of his career and the fourth-longest streak in franchise history. Lillard has scored at least 20 points 50 times this season, which is tied for the second-most in the NBA. His seven games with 40-plus points this season are tied for the fourth-most in the NBA and are tied for the most by a Portland player in a season in team history (Clyde Drexler, 1988-89).

Finally, Lillard averaged 48.8 points (54.8% FG, 57.0% 3-PT, 92.3% FT), 7.2 rebounds and 10.2 assists over the six games from Jan. 20 to Feb. 1. He totaled 293 points in that six-game span, which is tied for the third-most points in a six-game span since the NBA/ABA merger ahead of the 1976-77 season. Lillard is one of six players in NBA history with multiple career games of 60-plus points and is one of 10 players in NBA history with nine or more games of 50-plus points.

Lillard is fifth in the NBA in scoring (28.9) and ranks sixth in the league in assists (7.8). McCollum ranks 18th in the league in scoring (22.5). Hassan Whiteside ranks second in the league in rebounds (14.2), is first in blocks (3.07) and is sixth in field goal percentage (61.8%).

Whiteside is riding a streak of 14 straight double-doubles. His 51 double-doubles are the second-most in the NBA this season and the fourth-most in a season in Trail Blazers history (54, Mychal Thompson, 1981-82). His 14 double-doubles in a row are tied for the third-longest streak in franchise history (34, Bill Walton, 1976-77).

Portland Trail Blazers Playoffs panorama and Championship Odds

If the playoffs started today, the Blazers would not be in the field. Portland, which is 3.5 games behind No. 8 Memphis in the West, is a +20000 long shot to win an NBA title.

NBA Boston Celtics 2020 Season Analysis

It is more than a little frustrating to be locked up at home with no sports to watch and wager on. We are all adopting a wait and see attitude and hoping that this coronavirus scare blows over sooner rather than later. There is currently no return date being floated by the NBA, although there is talk that we are potentially looking at May before we get to see the players return to action. Whether that is to play out the remaining season and playoffs remains to be seen, as it may end up simply being a truncated version of the season that goes into play. Everything is up in the air at the moment, but what we can talk about is the games that have already been played. We are going to be looking at all the teams in the NBA and how things have gone for them this season, so let’s get the ball rolling with the Boston Celtics. Here’s an overview of the Boston Celtics 2020 season so far with NBA Odds and NBA Championship Odds.

NBA Boston Celtics 2020 Season Analysis

Boston Celtics Season So Far

The Boston Celtics had, by their own admission, a bit of a down season last year, winning a total of 49 games. They are currently sitting at 43-21 this year, so well on pace to surpass that total from last season. Given that we all had an idea that the Milwaukee Bucks might dominate in the Eastern Conference this season, Boston were realistically looking at the #2 seed in the conference. They are sitting in the #3 slot right now, 3 games back of the Raptors in second. Boston has been solid both at home and on the road. They have gone 23-9 in their own building this season, while compiling a 20-12 record away from home. They are 27-10 in conference play, but they have struggled a little in their division, going 7-6.

Boston Celtics Key Season Stats and Personnel

Much like the Toronto Raptors, the Boston Celtics are relying heavily on their work on the defensive end of the court to get the job down. That is not to suggest that they are poor offensively, as their 113.00 PPG has them in 11th in scoring. Jayson Tatum is at the top of the scoring stats for the Celtics, averaging 23.6 PPG. He is joined by Kemba Walker, who has 4.9 assists per game to lead that category for the Celtics. Gordon Hayward leads in FG% at 50.2.

As mentioned earlier, the Celtics have been very good in their own end of the court, holding opponents to an average of 106.8 PPG, which is good enough for second in the NBA in that category. Enes Kanter is leading the way for the Celtics in rebounding with 7.7 per game. Marcus Smart is the leader in steals, while Daniel Theis leads the way in blocks per game.

How do the Bookies View the Toronto Raptors?

The Boston Celtics are one of only three teams in the east to have clinched a playoff spot at this point, so they do need to be considered a legitimate threat. All roads are likely to run through Milwaukee, so the Celtics are still a bit of a longer shot at +1500.

Nets vs Lakers 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

The Brooklyn Nets are 1-0 since shockingly firing Coach Kenny Atkinson on Saturday, but the Nets are double-digit underdogs on the Mybookie NBA odds for their lone visit of the season to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. Let’s see how the NBA odds will be for the Nets vs Lakers.

Nets vs Lakers 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Nets vs Lakers Season Series

Lakers lead 1-0, taking a 128-113 decision on Jan. 23. LeBron James had 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. The Lakers hit 19 three-pointers. A back-and-forth game for nearly three quarters turned into a rout after the Lakers broke the Nets’ spirits with four straight 3-pointers spanning the third and fourth quarters, extending a one-point lead to 107-94. Anthony Davis had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Dwight Howard finished with 14 points and 12 boards. Kyrie Irving had 20 points but is now out for the season. Brooklyn made a season-high-tying 21 threes (on 46 3FGA) and posted 30 assists on 40 field goals made.

Why Bet on Brooklyn?

The Nets canned Coach Kenny Atkinson on Saturday even though they would be a playoff team as things stand. One of Atkinson’s assistants, former Orlando Magic coach Jacque Vaughn, will finish out the season as the head coach but probably won’t get the full-time job.

The Nets won in Vaughn’s debut Sunday, 110-107 over Chicago. The Nets committed a season-high 29 turnovers and forced just six but had a 19-rebound advantage (50-31) in the victory. Spencer Dinwiddie scored 24 points with three rebounds and six assists. He was 14-for-15 from the free-throw line. Caris LeVert scored 23 points with six rebounds and five assists. He averaged 28.8 points, 6.5 assists and 6 .3 rebounds in four games last week.

Vaughn started DeAndre Jordan and center and had Jarrett Allen come off the bench. Jordan had 11 points, 15 boards, four assists and three blocks in 29 minutes against the Bulls. Allen had 11 points, six rebounds, one assist and one block in 19 minutes.

Guard Garrett Temple (left ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Lakers. It’ll be his fourth straight game on the sidelines, which will continue to lead to more minutes for Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrott and Chris Choizza.

The Nets have shot .500 or better from the field in each of their last two games, marking the third time this season Brooklyn has shot .500 or better in consecutive games. The last time the Nets did so in three straight came last season.

Why Bet on LA Lakers?

The Lakers were the NBA’s most impressive team over the weekend, first beating the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday and then the Clippers on Sunday, 112-103. The Lakers had been 0-2 vs. the Clippers this season.

LeBron James scored 28 points with seven rebounds, nine assists and two blocks Sunday. The Lakers dominated in the third quarter with a 36-28 edge. James was a distant second in the MVP race, but LeBron’s strong weekend combined with Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) getting hurt could make it an interesting race.  Anthony Davis scored 30 points with eight rebounds Sunday.

Avery Bradley scored a season-high 24 points vs. the Clippers. He was big time and LeBron James even mentioned Bradley in his post-game presser thanks to his third. In his 11 third-quarter minutes, Bradley scored 12 points on his four 3-pointers to help the Lakers pull away.

The Lakers have added former Heat guard Dion Waiters, but he won’t immediately join the rotation. “[Markieff Morris had] been playing games for the Pistons; Dion’s played three games this year,” coach Frank Vogel said. “So it’s a matter of acclimating, getting used to our system, getting a few practices under his belt.”

The Lakers and Nets have met 90 times, with Los Angeles leading the all-time series 65-25. At Staples Center, the Lakers are 13-7 all-time against the Nets. The Lakers have won 14 of the last 20 matchups with the Nets overall. L.A. is 8-7 against the Nets since the franchise moved to Brooklyn. Since the Nets entered the league prior to the 1976-77 season, the Lakers have lost just six total season series to Brooklyn, including last season.

Clippers vs Warriors 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Off their first loss of the season when everyone was healthy and available, the Los Angeles Clippers look to bounce back on Tuesday night when they visit the Golden State Warriors, who may not have Steph Curry in the lineup. The Clips will be solid favorites on the NBA odds at Mybookie for the Clippers vs Warriors game tonight.

Clippers vs Warriors 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Clippers vs Warriors Season Series

This is the third of four regular season meetings between the two teams. The Clippers lead the season series, 2-0, with wins at Chase Center on October 24, opening night (141-122) and at Staples Center on January 10 (109-100). With a win Tuesday, it would mark the first time the Clippers won three straight meetings against the Warriors since they won seven consecutive matchups (Nov. 6, 2004 to Jan. 23, 2006). The last time the Clippers won three games against the Warriors in a season was in 2005-06 (3-1), also marking the last time they won a regular season series versus Golden State. Those 141 points in the opener were the most Golden State has allowed in the history of the series (previous: 139 points, twice).

Why Bet on LA Clippers?

The Clippers had a six-game winning streak snapped Sunday in a 112-103 home loss to the Lakers. LeBron James was the best player on the floor with 28 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Anthony Davis scored 30 points and Avery Bradley added 24.

With the Lakers up by four points, James hit a 3-pointer to open the fourth. His 3-point play and a basket by Davis capped a 14-6 run that pushed it to 99-87, their first double-digit lead of the game. The Clippers led by four at halftime but finished with more turnovers (15) than assists (12). They fell to 10-1 in games when their entire roster is healthy.

Kawhi Leonard scored 27 points with two rebounds, one block, one turnover and no assists in 37 minutes. It was Kawhi’s first game without any assists this year.  Leonard ranks eighth in the NBA in ppg (26.9) and is fifth in steals (1.8).

Paul George made 9-of-16 from the field for 31 points with six rebounds.  Marcus Morris went 0-of-9 from the field and 1-of-2 from the line for one point in the loss. Morris is struggling a bit right now. In his previous 10 games, he had scored just 10.4 points per. Overall, he is averaging career-high in points (19.6), three-pointers made (2.7) and three-point field goal percentage (43.9).

The Clippers are 12-1 this season when they make at least 15 three-pointers. The Clippers have 26 games this season where they have scored 120+ points which ranks tied for third in the NBA. The Clippers are 16-3 this season following a loss which is the third-best record in the NBA. The Clippers have only lost back-to-back games three times this season which is the second-fewest in the NBA.

Why Bet on Golden State?

Golden State beat the visiting 76ers on Saturday 118-114 and has been much more competitive in the two games since Steph Curry returned from a broken hand. He didn’t play on Saturday, though, due to flu-like symptoms. The team said that Curry is not at specific risk for COVID-19 or coronavirus. He’s questionable for this game, so that’s why there was no early spread. Curry is five 3-pointers shy of 2,500 career – only Ray Allen and Reggie Miller have made over 2,500 career 3-pointers in NBA history.

If Curry is out again, Mychal Mulder could get another start. Mulder scored a career-high 18 points Saturday. This season the Warriors have used 33 different starting lineups – it’s the most since a franchise record-high 49 in 2009-10 (starters were first tracked in 1970-71). The 33 different starting lineups are the sixth-most used in a single season. Draymond Green was out as well with a knee injury and it’s possible the team just shuts him down for the year. Kevon Looney (hip) is out at least another three weeks.

Eric Paschall scored 23 points, including a pair of free throws with 51.7 seconds remaining, as the Warriors snapped a 10-game home losing streak with Saturday’s win. Golden State won at Chase Center for the first time since Jan. 18. After Paschall made his two free throws, the Sixers missed three consecutive shots, including a 32-foot jumper by Shake Milton. Paschall has scored 10-or-more points in each of the last 10 games (17.5 ppg, .595 FG%) and has tallied 20-or-more points in four of the last six games (21.0 ppg in that span).

Damion Lee scored 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting with six rebounds. Lee was the biggest beneficiary of Curry being out. Lee routinely brought the ball up the floor and ran the offense for the Warriors.  Marquese Chriss fell just shy of his first career triple-double on Saturday, scoring 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting with 10 rebounds and a career-high eight assists.

Bucks vs Nuggets 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

The Milwaukee Bucks will look to get the big road upset without reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo when they hit the road to take on the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. With both of these legitimate NBA Finals hopefuls looking to get back in the win column, let’s find out which team is offering the best value against their NBA Odds for the Bucks vs Nuggets.

Bucks vs Nuggets 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Why Bet On Milwaukee at +3.5

After failing to lose two straight games all season, the Bucks will now look to avoid three straight losses after losing a high-scoring 140-131 shootout against Phoenix on Sunday night. Khris Middleton scored a team-high 39 points and former Suns guard Eric Bledsoe added 28, but the Bucks were never able to overcome a 19-point deficit after allowing the Suns to put up a whopping 47 first quarter points.

“It is hard to win three quarters and lose a game by nine,” Milwaukee coach Mike Budenholzer said. “Still, it was a huge hole. They did a lot of things well.”

Milwaukee will be without their team leader when this game goes down due to a mild knee sprain. Giannis Antetokounmpo is not expected to play until Thursday against Boston at the earliest.

“The way they described it to me is we’ll see how the next few days go and kind of evaluate him and see where he is then,” Budenholzer said.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 29.6 points and 13.7 rebounds while Khris Middleton is averaging 20.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. The Bucks have gone 25-8 on the road this season.

Why Bet On Denver at -3.5?

Denver might be just one game out of second place in the Western Conference, but the Nuggets have struggled in dropping three of their last five and five of 10 overall including a humbling 104-102 road loss at Cleveland on Saturday. Will Barton scored 22 points to lead Denver, but all-Star center Nikola Jokic was held to single digits in scoring for the first time in 44 games in the loss.

“Who are we?” head coach Mike Malone told reporters afterward. “That’s a decision we have to think long and hard about. On defense, we don’t point, we don’t talk, we don’t match. You have to participate in your own recovery, right? Our transition defensive lapses are so egregious in nature – lob, dunk, a coast-to-coast drive.”

The Nuggets have seen their once stout defense go belly up recently by allowing an average of 116.4 points over the last five games which is almost nine points per game than their regular season average. Nikola Jokic is averaging 20.5 points and 10.2 rebounds while Jamal Murray is averaging 18.6 points and 4.8 assists. Denver has gone 24-8 at home this season.

  • Points/G: 110.6

  • Field Goal %: 46.0
  • 3-Point %: 34.7
  • Free Throw %: 75.8

Denver Nuggets Betting Trends

  • Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
  • Nuggets are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games as a home favorite.
  • Nuggets are 9-3-2 ATS in their last 14 games following a straight up loss.
  • Nuggets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Bucks vs Nuggets Expert Analysis and Prediction

The Denver Nuggets might no be playing very well right now, but they are at home in this affair and Milwaukee is without its best player.  With that said, I’ve got to believe the Nuggets can take care of business to prove to themselves if no one else, that they can contend with the best teams in the league.

Milwaukee has gone 6-13-1 ATS in the last 20 road dates against the Nuggets and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. While Denver is also 1-4 ATS in their last five, Denver has also gone 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games as a home favorite and 9-3-2 ATS in their last 14 games following a straight up loss. Denver wins and narrowly covers the chalk!

Raptors vs Jazz 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

The Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz will both be looking to extend their winning ways when they square off at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Monday night in a matchup of legitimate NBA Finals hopefuls. With both teams looking to remain red-hot, let’s find out which team is offering the best value against their NBA Odds for the Raptors vs Jazz.

Raptors vs Jazz 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Why Bet On Toronto at +4

The Raptors have won three straight and come into this affair off a hard-fought 118-113 win over Sacramento on Sunday night.

Norman Powell scored a team-high 31 points while Kyle Lowry added 30 points and eight assists. All-star forward Pascal Siakam added 23 points and eight rebounds in the win. Toronto got all, but seven of their points from their starters as their reserves continued their recent struggles.

“I don’t know what else to say other than there’s a group of them that were riding a wave of playing very well and now they’re in a little bit of a downturn,” coach Nick Nurse told reporters of the bench. “. … They don’t seem to be nearly as impactful. I don’t know what it is. They just, like I said, they look really uncomfortable out there all of a sudden.”

Serge Ibaka added 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the win to help the Raptors improve to 22-9 on the road as they look to finish up a five-game road trip in style.

Offense:

  • Points/G: 113.2
  • Field Goal %: 45.9
  • 3-Point %: 37.2
  • Free Throw %: 79.9
  • Rebounds/G: 45.1

Defense:

  • Points/G: 106.8
  • Field Goal %: 42.9
  • 3-Point %: 33.7
  • Free Throw %: 76.9
  • Rebounds/G: 46.5

Toronto Raptors Betting Trends

  • Raptors are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog.
  • Raptors are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
  • Raptors are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.
  • Raptors are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

Why Bet On Utah at -4

The Jazz have won five straight and come into this matchup off a 111-105 win over Detroit on Saturday that saw

Bojan Bogdanovic put up a team-high 32 points while all-star guard Donovan Mitchell added 25 points in the win. Now, the Jazz are looking for consistency after some wild swings. Prior to their five-game run in the win column, the Jazz dropped their previous four, which followed a four-game winning streak, which came on the heels of a five-game slide.

“Ultimately you can’t get too high or too low through it, you’ve got to stay consistent on your work ethic and how you approach every day,” Jazz guard Mike Conley told reporters after Sunday’s win. “You can’t worry about the result all the time. Right now we can’t be worried about us winning four or five in a row, it’s about the next game or tomorrow’s practice. We’ve got to lock in on the little things.”

Rudy Gobert chipped in with 10 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in the win while Utah shot a blistering 51 percent from the field to improve to 21-9 at home this season.

Offense:

  • Points/G: 111.3
  • Field Goal %: 47.6
  • 3-Point %: 38.3
  • Free Throw %: 77.3
  • Rebounds/G: 45.3

Defense:

  • Points/G: 108.0
  • Field Goal %: 45.2
  • 3-Point %: 35.1
  • Free Throw %: 76.8
  • Rebounds/G: 42.4

Utah Jazz Betting Trends

  • Jazz are 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games following a straight up win.
  • Jazz are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
  • Jazz are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS loss.
  • Jazz are 2-12-2 ATS in their last 16 games as a favorite.

Raptors vs Jazz Expert Analysis and Prediction

I know the Jazz are playing at home and playing well right now, but I like the Toronto Raptors to put up a big-time fight in this one to cover the chalk in a thriller. I know Toronto has gone1-3-1 ATS in their last five road games, but Toronto is also 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog and an encouraging 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games against a team with a winning home record. On the flip side of the coin, the Jazz are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall, 0-4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 2-12-2 ATS in their last 16 games as a favorite. With Marc Gasol back from a lengthy absence and Fred VanVleet likely to make his way back to action in this one, I like Toronto to make a statement in this one!

Pick: Toronto 111 Utah 108

Bucks vs Lakers 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

When you have seen as much of the season as has been played now in the NBA, you usually have a pretty good idea as to which teams are likely to make a run at the championship. The reality, though, is that unless you have a fully functional crystal ball, you can’t really see what will happen in the postseason, no matter how good a team has looked up until this point. In terms of making predictions and figuring out the postseason, the NBA tends to be a little more forgiving than other sports, as it is usually the top 2 or 3 teams at the end of the regular season who end up going the furthest once we get into the business of the playoffs. Surprises do happen, though, so while it would appear that we are destined to see the Milwaukee Bucks and the LA Lakers meet in the NBA Finals, we can’t really be 100% sure. It would be a fantastic matchup, though, and the good news is that we will get a potential preview of that final on Friday night when the Bucks take the court in the Staples Center. This one is in as a -1 Lakers play, with the point total set at 228 ½. Let’s see how the NBA odds will be for the Bucks vs Lakers.

Bucks vs Lakers 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Why bet on the Milwaukee Bucks

Barring some sort of ridiculous late season collapse, the Milwaukee Bucks are going to end the season with the best record in the NBA, which would mean that they would have home court advantage all the way through the playoffs. This is not a team that has had to rely on home court advantage, though, as they are also 25-6 on the road this season, although just 17-14 ATS in those games. The Bucks are showing absolutely no sign of slowing down and come into this one having gone 8-2 in their last 10 games. Milwaukee has also been dominant versus teams from the Western Conference, going 19-4 in those outings, which includes a 111-104 win over the Lakers in their previous meeting this season.

Team Stats

Offense

  • Total Score: 119.1
  • Field Goal %: 47.89
  • Three Point %: 35.78
  • Free Throw %: 74.33
  • Total Rebounds: 52.16

Defense

  • Total Score: 106.71
  • Field Goal %: 41.03
  • Three Point %: 35.56
  • Free Throw %: 77.98
  • Total Rebounds: 45.58

Why bet on the LA Lakers

If any team has a shot at surpassing the Milwaukee Bucks for the best record in the league, it is the LA Lakers. That said, they still have 6 fewer wins than the Bucks, so that is not necessarily something I see happening at this stage of the season. What LA will want to do is get a home win over the best team in the league, as they will not want to head into an NBA Finals showdown with the Bucks knowing that they were swept in the regular season series. The Lakers have been good at home, going 22-7 there this season. They have a winning record versus teams from the East at 15-6 and they are 13-2 SU in their last 15 games overall. The Lakers are a perfect 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games played in the month of March.

Team Stats

Offense

  • Total Score: 114.6
  • Field Goal %: 48.68
  • Three Point %: 35.84
  • Free Throw %: 72.64
  • Total Rebounds: 46.07

Defense

  • Total Score: 107.1
  • Field Goal %: 44.62
  • Three Point %: 34.54
  • Free Throw %: 77.58
  • Total Rebounds: 42.08

Bucks vs Lakers NBA Betting Trends

  • Milwaukee are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Milwaukee’s last 5 games.
  • Milwaukee are 7-1 SU in their last 8 games.
  • Milwaukee are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against LA Lakers.
  • Milwaukee are 6-0 SU in their last 6 games against LA Lakers.
  • LA Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games.
  • LA Lakers are 9-1 SU in their last 10 games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of LA Lakers’ last 6 games against Milwaukee.
  • LA Lakers are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games at home.
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of LA Lakers’ last 5 games when playing at home against Milwaukee.

Bucks vs Lakers Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I think we are in for a highly entertaining game here, and I also believe that it will be a tight affair. 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two in LA have gone OVER, so let’s go that way again.

Raptors vs Warriors 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

With two-time league MVP Steph Curry set to make his long-awaited return to the court in this affair, all eyes will be on the Golden State sweet-shooting franchise superstar when the Dubs host the defending champion Toronto Raptors on Thursday. With both teams looking to record consecutive victories, let’s find out which team is offering the best value against their NBA Odds for the Raptors vs Warriors.

Raptors vs Warriors 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Why Bet On Toronto at -10.5

The Raptors snapped a three-game skid by getting past Phoenix 123-114 on the road on Tuesday as Pascal Siakam scored a team-high 33 points while Kyle Lowry added 28 points and Norman Powell 26 points. Toronto came back from 17 points down to get the win. Now, Toronto is set to face an energetic crowd as they prepare for Steph Curry’s return.

“Rumor has it that Curry’s going to make his debut – or whatever it is, re-debut,” Toronto coach Nick Nurse told reporters. “I would imagine they will be energized, and the place will be excited, and I hope we can get some rest and figure out a defense to stop him.”

Offense:

  • Points/G: 113.0
  • Field Goal %: 45.8
  • 3-Point %: 37.2
  • Free Throw %: 79.7
  • Rebounds/G: 45.3

Defense:

  • Points/G: 106.6
  • Field Goal %: 42.9
  • 3-Point %: 33.9
  • Free Throw %: 76.7
  • Rebounds/G: 46.3

Toronto Raptors Betting Trends

  • Raptors are 39-16 ATS in their last 55 games playing on 1 days rest.
  • Raptors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
  • Raptors are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win.

Why Bet On Golden State at +10.5

The Golden State Warriors have lost nine of their last 11 games, but the Dubs have won two of their last three including a stunning 116-100 win over Denver on Tuesday night as Andrew Wiggins and Eric Paschall each scored 22 points and Marquese Chriss added 16 points. The Warriors shot a blistering 51 percent from the field to come back from 15 points down to get the win. Now, the Dubs are set to get their team leader back, even if they only have pride left to play for at this point.

“It feels good,” Curry said Feb. 22 after being cleared for contact. “It’s been a long three-and-a-half-plus months, whatever it is. It’s nice to get out there with my guys and play and keep moving forward.”

Offense:

  • Points/G: 106.0
  • Field Goal %: 43.7
  • 3-Point %: 33.6
  • Free Throw %: 80.5
  • Rebounds/G: 43.0

Defense:

  • Points/G: 114.7
  • Field Goal %: 47.6
  • 3-Point %: 38.9
  • Free Throw %: 77.6
  • Rebounds/G: 46.7

Golden State Warriors Betting Trends

  • Warriors are 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 games following a straight up win.
  • Warriors are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
  • Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

Raptors vs Warriors Expert Analysis and Prediction

The Warriors will be energized to get the win, but Toronto is the far better team right now and they’re a bit desperate to get back on track after dropping three of their last four games. Still, while the Raptors have gone a perfect 5-0 ATS in their last five road dates against the Warriors, I think the double-digit spread is a few points too high for Toronto to cover.

The Raptors are a modest 4-5 ATS over their last nine games and 1-3 ATS over their last four. Conversely, the Warriors are 2-1 SU and ATS over their last three and I believe their confidence-boosting win over Denver the last time out will be just enough to help them cover the chalk in this affair.

Pick: Toronto 114 Golden State 106

76ers vs Kings 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

The Philadelphia 76ers are truly horrible on the road and are underdogs on the Mybookie NBA odds to lose away from home again Thursday as they remain without Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid in a visit to Sacramento. Let’s see how the NBA odds will be for the 76ers vs Kings.

76ers vs Kings 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

76ers vs Kings First Meeting

On Nov. 27, the Sixers beat the visiting Kings 97 -91. Joel Embiid had 33 points and 16 rebounds. He finished 10-of-19 from the field and 12-of-14 from the free throw line. Philadelphia rookie Matisse Thybulle scored all 15 of his points in the second half. Thybulle was needed after Josh Richardson didn’t return in the second half due to right hamstring tightness. Buddy Hield scored 22 points and Dewayne Dedmon had 18 for the Kings. Sacramento closed within five, 92-87, thanks to a 14-2 run. But Embiid scored from close to put the 76ers up 94-87. The Kings were without starting point guard De’Aaron Fox. Sacramento has dropped their last two meetings against Philadelphia.

Why Bet on Philadelphia?

Philly (37-25) lost its ninth straight road game Tuesday, 120-107 at the Lakers. L.A. took control by outscoring the 76ers 37-19 in the second quarter. Philly’s role players and backups got off to an impressive start, taking an early 13-point lead. That’s when Anthony Davis took control with a dazzling second quarter that included three 3-pointers. The Lakers made 17 of their 19 shots at one point.

The 76ers were without three starters in Josh Richardson and All-Stars Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Richardson is in the NBA’s concussion protocol after colliding with teammate Alec Burks in Sunday’s loss to the Clippers. Embiid missed his third straight game with a sprained left shoulder. Simmons missed his fifth straight game with a lower back injury. None are expected to play here.

Without arguably their three best defensive players, the Sixers were fully outmanned and outgunned, which is why Brett Brown changed up his defensive looks, throwing a bunch of 2-3 zone at the Lakers.

Al Horford was dominated by Davis, and Horford could be seen on the broadcast getting ice and treatment on his left knee on the bench. He’s missed time this season because of soreness in that knee and left hamstring tightness.

Tobias Harris showed no ill effects from a sore knee from his previous game and hit 8-of-18 shots and two 3-pointers for 18 points along with seven rebounds. Shake Milton hit 4-of-9 shots for 12 points in the loss; he dropped a career-high 39 points on the Clippers the game before. He’s starting for Simmons.

Glenn Robinson played 31 minutes off the bench and hit 10-of-15 shots and three 3-pointers for 25 points along four rebounds. Robinson has now scored at least 20 points nine times in his career, with eight of them coming this season.

  • Field Goal %: 45.97
  • Three Point %: 35.38

Why Bet on Sacramento?

The Sacramento Kings (27-34) won for the third straight game and sixth in the past seven Tuesday, 133-126 over Washington. Sacramento’s 76 points in the first half were a season high.

Sacramento had seven players in double figures on a wild night when they won despite being held to 19 points in the third quarter and nearly blowing a 28-point lead. Coach Luke Walton was ejected in the third quarter. Walton had to be physically restrained after being ejected after being hit with back-to-back technical fouls during a big Wizards run in the third.

De’Aaron Fox played through his abdominal tightness and hit 12-of-19 shots for 31 points in the win. Walton has confirmed that Fox is not 100 percent, but the Kings don’t have the luxury of sitting him right now with the team pushing for a playoff spot.

Bogdan Bogdanovic finished with 21 points, Buddy Hield scored 17 and Cory Joseph added 14. The Kings remain without injured big men Marvin Bagley and Richaun Holmes. Holmes (right shoulder) progressed to some 2-on-2 work this week.

In the seven games since coming back from the All-Star break, the Kings are averaging 114.9 points, 23.9 assists, 9.3 steals and just 11.9 turnovers per game, tied for fifth in steals and third turnovers per game; the Kings are also fourth over that period in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.01). The Kings have been solid defensively over the seven-game period, posting a defensive rating of 106.6 over their last seven contests, which is sixth in the NBA during that time as opponents are averaging the seventh lowest scoring since returning from the break, averaging just 108.7 points per game.

Also since the break, Sacramento is forcing 15.9 turnovers per game while scoring 18.1 points per game off opponent turnovers, which ranks seventh in opponent turnovers per game over their last seven games.

Clippers vs Rockets 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

The Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets are two of three teams battling for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference behind the Los Angeles Lakers. The Clippers and Rockets complete their season series Thursday in Houston with the home side a slight NBA betting favorite at Mybookie. Let’s see how the NBA odds will be for the Clippers vs Rockets.

Clippers vs Rockets 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Clippers vs Rockets Season Series

Houston leads 2-1. The teams haven’t played since Dec. 19 in L.A., which the Rockets won 122-117. Houston led 101-89 with 9:30 remaining but trailed 113-107 with 4:29 left before rallying to take the lead for good with a 15-0 run; James Harden had 14 of his 28 points in the quarter. Russell Westbrook had a game-high 40 points. Paul George led L.A. with 34 points. Harden is averaging 37.3 points vs. the Clippers this season and Westbrook 26.3. George is averaging 26.5 for L.A. and Kawhi Leonard 25.0. The Rockets have won five of the past eight at home after losing five of the previous six there. Houston leads all-time at home 68-28.

Why Bet on LA Clippers?

The Clippers (42-19) won their fifth in a row Tuesday, 109-94 at the Thunder. The Clippers held Oklahoma City to 42% shooting as coach Doc Rivers moved into sole possession of 12th place in NBA history with 936 wins. The Clippers finished the second quarter strong and led 59-47 at halftime. The game was really over at that point. The 15-point margin matched Oklahoma City’s worst home loss of the season.

Kawhi Leonard racked up 25 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Paul George said he was still a “work in progress” following his 16-point effort in Tuesday’s easy win. “[George], he’s just missed so much. You can see him picking up for sure,” said Rivers when asked about PG-13’s up-and-down season. “I think he still has conditioning to do, which is so late in the season to be saying that, but with his injuries and the type of injuries he’s had, he’s not been able to run.”

Montrezl Harrell tweaked his left ankle vs. the Thunder but finished the game with 16 points, three rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes. After the game, he insisted that his ankle was fine and he’s planning on playing on Thursday, but the team might overrule him.

The Clippers are 8-0 this season when they enter a contest with no injuries to report. Overall this season, the Clippers have used 29 starting lineups which is tied for the most different starting lineups in the NBA.

The Clippers are 12-1 this season when they make at least 15 three-pointers. The Clippers have 25 games this season where they have scored 120+ points which ranks tied for second in the NBA.

Why Bet on Houston?

Houston (39-21) had a six-game winning streak end Monday in a 125-123 upset loss at the New York Knicks. The Rockets, playing without a traditional center, couldn’t overcome the Knicks’ whopping 65-34 rebounding advantage, or New York’s 64-36 edge in points in the paint. The Knicks ended a nine-game home losing streak against the Rockets with their first victory over them since Jan. 26, 2009 — when Houston coach Mike D’Antoni was on the other sideline.

James Harden had 35 points and eight assists for the Rockets. Russell Westbrook cooled off in shooting 9-of-19 from the field and 5-of-7 from the line for 24 points with nine rebounds, three assists and six turnovers in 37 minutes. Westbrook missed the potential tying jumper at the buzzer.

Robert Covington had another terrific showing Monday, shooting 7-of-14 for 20 points with 13 rebounds. Since joining Houston, Covington is averaging 13.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. Covington is the tallest Rocket in the starting lineup at 6-8 but has been doing a terrific job protecting the rim — his recent streak of three or more blocked shots in six consecutive games is tied for the longest such streak by any Rockets player since Hakeem Olajuwon in 1995.

Danuel House had 20 points vs. New York. The Rockets are 31-12 when he starts this season and 8-9 otherwise. Houston has scored 20+ points in three of the past 15 games after doing so twice over his first 78 games played as a Rocket going back to last season.

Nuggets vs Hornets 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

The Denver Nuggets are a vastly different team on the road – i.e. not as good – as they make their only visit of the season Thursday night to Charlotte to take on owner Michael Jordan’s Hornets. Denver is favored on the Mybookie Basketball odds. Let’s see how the NBA odds will be for the Nuggets vs Hornets.

Nuggets vs Hornets 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Nuggets vs Hornets First Meeting

Denver won 100-86 at home on Jan. 20. Michael Porter Jr. led the Nuggets in scoring with 19 points off the bench and Nikola Jokic tallied 12 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the win. All five starters scored in double figures for the Hornets with Terry Rozier leading the way with 20 points and nine assists. Charlotte has won the past three at home in this series and is 19-10 all-time at home vs. Denver.

Why Bet on Denver?

The Nuggets (41-20) are battling for the No. 2 seed in the West but can’t afford bad losses like on Tuesday when they were upset as huge home favorites vs. Golden State, 116-100. A 16-point underdog, the Warriors were down 77-65 with 5:08 left in the third quarter. They went on a 43-15 run to take control and win for just the second time in 11 games.

Denver coach Michael Malone had warned his team not to overlook the Warriors, but it was another head-scratching home loss for the Nuggets, who’ve also dropped games to Atlanta and Cleveland. Even more alarming, Denver is 3-3 since the All-Star break.

Nikola Jokic hit 7-of-15 shots for 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in the loss. Jokic was great but the Nuggets couldn’t get anything going in the second half when they were outscored 67-42. Paul Millsap returned to action from a right ankle sprain on Tuesday night and hit 6-of-9 shots for 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Denver has been good on the road this year. Their 17 wins this season mark the most through 28 road games in NBA franchise history and with 12 games remaining they are just five wins off the franchise record of 22 road victories done in 2006-07.

The Nuggets currently average 44.6 rebounds per game and when Denver pulls down more rebounds than their opponent, they tend to have a good result, going 28-5 overall. When Denver has 25 or more assists in a game, they are 31-8 this season.

Why Bet on Charlotte?

Charlotte Hornets (21-40) lost its second in a row Tuesday, 104-103 at home vs. the Spurs. The Hornets jumped to a 12-2 lead to open the game, prompting Spurs interim coach Tim Duncan to use his first timeout. Charlotte extended its lead to as many 17 in the first half, but the Spurs battled back to take a 77-76 lead entering the fourth quarter. San Antonio extended the lead to six with 4:24 left in the game after three free throws by Bryn Forbes. The Hornets had a chance to win the game on their final possession. However, after Terry Rozier drove to the basket, his pass under the basket went in and out of the hands of Cody Martin.

Cody Zeller was back in the starting lineup on Tuesday vs. the Spurs, finishing with eight points, seven rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes. He had sat via coach’s decision the previous three games. Bismack Biyombo picked up a DNP-CD on Tuesday. The Hornets have a revolving door at center right now.

Rozier moved to point guard vs. the Spurs and had 20 points with six rebounds, five assists one turnover in 36 minutes. Devonte’ Graham (ankle) was out tonight and is day-to-day going forward. Martin made his second career start on Tuesday for Graham and matched his career-best of 13 points (6-of-8 FGs), adding five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 34 minutes.

Twin brother Caleb Martin scored a career-high 12 points with three rebounds in 26 minutes. Coach James Borrego said that Caleb would get “significant” minutes going forward with Malik Monk suspended indefinitely.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks will be looking to rebound from a rare loss when they host Domantas Sabonis and an Indiana Pacers squad that will be looking to extend their winning ways when they two Eastern Conference rivals square off in their mid-week matchup on Wednesday at the Fiserv Forum. The Pacers have won four straight and six of seven including a 116-111 win over San Antonio on Monday night as Malcolm Brogdon scored a team-high 26 points and T.J. Warren added 23 points.

“Yeah, I’m just in a good rhythm, just staying aggressive,” Warren, who scored 35 points in the Pacers’ 118-111 home win over Milwaukee on Feb. 12. “My guards and my teammates do a good job of just finding me. Me cutting and just finding the open spots and me getting out on transition, really just compliment my game and I want to continue that.”

Warren averages a team-high 18.7 points per game while Domantas Sabonis is averaging 18.3 points and Malcolm Brogdon is putting up 16.6 points per contest. Indiana averages 109.4 points per game (21st) while limiting the opposition to 107.2 points per game defensively (7th). The    Pacers have gone 16-14  on the road this season.

  • Pacers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog.
  • Pacers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.

Why Bet On Milwaukee

The Bucks have a lot to play for in this contest as they look to get some payback for their loss against Indiana the last time they met while trying to bounce back from a stunning 105-89 smackdown loss against Miami on Monday. Reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was held to a season-low 13 points on 6-of-18 shooting.

“You’re going to win some games and you’re going to lose some games,” Antetokounmpo told reporters after the loss. “We’re not going to go 82-0. Miami is a great team. They came out and played really hard tonight, and we’re definitely going to play them again at some point and we’ll have to play better and play hard.”

Antetokounmpo is averaging a team-high 29.6 points and 13.8 rebounds while Khris Middleton is averaging 20.9 points and  Eric Bledsoe is putting up 15.3 points per game. Milwaukee averages 119.1 points per game to rank first in scoring while limiting the opposition to just 106.8  points per game defensively to rank second in points allowed. • Bucks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss.
  • Bucks are 27-9 ATS in their last 36 games following a straight up loss.
  • Bucks are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games as a favorite.
  • Bucks are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.

Pacers vs Bucks Expert Analysis and Prediction

I know the Indiana Pacers are playing well right now and they beat the Bucks less than a month ago, but they’re also taking on Milwaukee at a bad time seeing as how the Bucks haven’t lost two straight all season long and are back at home following their humbling loss to Miami to start the week.

Having said that, while I like Milwaukee to handle their business and get the big home win in this matchup to deliver a message to the Pacers should they meet in the playoffs, I believe the double digit spread is definitely a few points too high for the Bucks to cover. While the Bucks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games, the Pacers have gone an impressive 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 road games. I’m taking the points in my back pocket and the Pacers to cover and you should too!

Magic vs Heat 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Aaron Gordon and the Orlando Magic will be in all-out desperation mode when they hit the road to take on Jimmy Butler and a Miami Heat that is coming off of arguably their best performance of the regular season the last time out. With the Magic looking to snap a modest losing streak and Miami looking to extend their own winning ways in this mid-week matchup, let’s find out which team is offering the best value against their NBA Odds for the Magic vs Heat.

Magic vs Heat 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Why Bet On Orlando

The Magic have dropped two straight including a 130-107 blowout loss against Portland on Monday. Nikola Vucevic scored a team-high 30 points and added 11 rebounds while Terrence Ross added 23 points, but it wasn’t enough as Blazers star C.J. McCollum put up a game-high 41 points. The Magic allowed the Blazers to shoot a blistering 55.7 percent in the loss.

“That was incredibly disappointing,” Magic coach Steve Clifford said. “Tonight was again, lackluster defense. If we think we are gonna outscore people and make the playoffs or be a factor, we don’t understand who we are.”

Vucevic is averaging a team-high 19.3 points and 10.8 rebounds while Evan Fournier is averaging 18.9 points per contest. Orlando averages 105.3 points per game (29th) while allowing 106.9 points per game defensively (3rd). The  Magic have gone an uninspiring 11-19 on the road this season.

Team Stats

  • Total Score: 105.3
  • Field Goal %: 43.67
  • Three Point %: 33.71

Orlando Magic Betting Trends

  • Orlando are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games.
  • Orlando are 7-13 SU in their last 20 games.
  • Orlando are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games this season.
  • Orlando are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games against an opponent in the Eastern Conference conference.
  • Orlando are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games against an opponent in the Southeast Division division.

Why Bet On Miami

The Heat have won three straight including a stupendous 105-89 smackdown of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night that saw Jimmy Butler and Jae Crowder score an identical 18 points while the blossoming Bam Adebayo added 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.

“Collective effort,” Crowder said. “All hands on deck.”

The heat held the league’s reigning MVP to a season low 13 points and now they want to find some consistency as they head down the stretch run of the regular season.

“We take away from this that we can compete at the highest level,” Butler said. “But we know that we have to play this way every day from here on out.”

Butler is averaging a team-high 20.5 points and 6.7 rebounds while Goran Dragic is averaging 16.3 points and 5.1 assists. Miami averages 112.7 points per game (14th) while allowing 109.2 points per game defensively (11th). The Heat have gone 26-4 at home this season.

  • Total Rebounds: 42.2

Miami Heat Betting Trends

  • Miami are 4-8 ATS in their last 12 games.
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Miami’s last 6 games at home.
  • Miami are 5-2 SU in their last 7 games against an opponent in the Eastern Conference conference.
  • Miami are 12-4 SU in their last 16 games against an opponent in the Southeast Division division.
  • Miami are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games played in March.

Magic vs Heat Expert Analysis and Prediction

While Miami is are riding a three-game winning streak into this contest and are playing at home, the Heat have had trouble putting away their in-state rivals as their 5-5 SU mark in their last 10 meetings suggests. While I’m certainly not prepared to pick Orlando for the outright road upset, I do believe Orlando can cover the chalk as a nearly double-digit road dog in this meeting. Orlando are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and 5-2 ATS in the last 7 road dates against Miami. More importantly, the Magic’s talent level is similar to Miami’s and this one has the look of a fight to the finish before Orlando fades late. Give me the points and the Magic to cover!

Pick: Miami 112 Orlando 106

Pelicans vs Mavericks 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans will be looking to pull off the big road upset over Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks when the two Western Conference rivals square off in their mid-week matchup on Wednesday night. With two of the league’s brightest young stars looking to lead their respective teams to victory, let’s find out which team is offering the best value against their NBA Odds for the Pelicans vs Mavericks.

Pelicans vs Mavericks 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Why Bet On New Orleans

The Pelicans have dropped two straight and come into this affair off a high-scoring 139-134 home loss against Minnesota on Tuesday night. Jrue Holiday scored a team-high 27 points while Lonzo Ball had 26 points on 7 of 1 shooting from beyond the arc. Zion Williamson recorded 25 points and Brandon Ingram added 24 points. Still, it wasn’t enough as eight Timberwolves scored in double digits.

“We’re in a situation where we are trying to win basketball games to stay relevant,” New Orleans coach Alvin Gentry said afterward. “If you want to be a team that is relevant and relevant in the playoffs if we’re fortunate to get there, you have to be able to guard. You can’t just run up and down and try to outscore everyone and that’s what we tried to do.”

New Orleans fell to four games behind the Memphis Grizzlies who currently occupy the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoff chase.

“Hopefully this is a game that we understand and we learn from because we can’t afford not to be locked in and not to be into the ball,” Gentry said. “We didn’t do a very good job defensively.”

Ingram averages a team-high 24.6 points per game while Williamson is averaging 24.2 points per contest through 16 NBA games. Holiday averages 19.2 points per contest. New Orleans averages 116.1 points per game to rank a surprising fourth in scoring while allowing 117.2  points per game defensively (27th). The Pelicans have gone 14-16 on the road this season.

  • Field Goal %: 46.72
  • Three Point %: 35.65
  • Free Throw %: 78.54

New Orleans Pelicans Betting Trends

  • New Orleans are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games.
  • New Orleans are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against Dallas.
  • New Orleans are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games on the road.
  • New Orleans are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games this season.
  • The total is 13-5 in New Orleans’ last 18 games against Western Conference teams.

Why Bet On Dallas

Dallas has dropped two of their last three including a crushing 109-107 road loss to Chicago on Monday to finish off their four-game road trip at 2-2. Tim Hardaway Jr. scored a team-high 26 points while young all-star forward Luka Doncic returned from a one-game absence to put up 23 points and nine assists, although he struggled shooting the ball by going just 1-of-8 from beyond the arc.

“We just got away from what was working and what we were doing, and eventually they woke up,” veteran guard Courtney Lee told reporters. “And then once a team like that gets confidence, they can compete with anybody.”

Power forward Kristaps Porzingis, who has averaged 27.3 points per game over his last 11,  is expected back on Wednesday night after sitting out Monday.

Doncic is averaging a team-high 28.5 points per game while Porzingis is putting up 19.2 points per contest and Hardaway Jr., 15.5 points per night. Dallas averages 116.4 points per game to rank third in scoring while allowing 110.4 points per game defensively (15th). The Mavericks have gone a modest 16-14 at home this season.

Team Stats

Offense

  • Total Score: 116.4
  • Field Goal %: 46.3
  • Three Point %: 36.82
  • Free Throw %: 77.62
  • Total Rebounds: 47.06

Defense

  • Total Score: 110.39
  • Field Goal %: 45.22
  • Three Point %: 34.3
  • Free Throw %: 76.06
  • Total Rebounds: 45.27

Dallas Mavericks Betting Trends

  • Dallas are 15-5 SU in their last 20 games when playing at home against New Orleans.
  • Dallas are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against an opponent in the Western Conference conference.
  • Dallas are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games against an opponent in the Southwest Division division.
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Dallas’ last 6 games at home.

Pelicans vs Mavericks Expert Analysis and Prediction

I know Dallas has won all three regular season meetings against New Orleans, including an emphatic 130-84 home win on Dec. 7, but that was before Zion Williamson took the court and with their rookie star on the floor, the Pelicans have been surprisingly competitive.

Yes, Dallas will have Kristaps Porzingis back on the floor for this one, but I like New Orleans’ deeper roster, not to mention the fact that Lonzo ball can suddenly shoot the ball (I think). I know New Orleans is just 1-4 ATS over their last five, but the Pelicans have also won four of their last five on the road while beating the likes of the Pacers and completely desperate Blazers along the way. I like the Pelicans to cover the chalk with room to spare while pushing a Dallas Mavericks team that has been mediocre at home this season, for the outright win.

Pick: Dallas 117 New Orleans 115

Clippers vs Thunder NBA Odds & TV Info

It’s a second return to Oklahoma City for ex-Thunder player Paul George on Tuesday night and a potential playoff preview as the Los Angeles Clippers visit the Thunder. L.A. is a short favorite on the NBA odds. Let’s see how the NBA odds will be for the Clippers vs Thunder.

Clippers vs Thunder NBA Odds & TV Info

Clippers vs Thunder Season Series

Tied 1-1. The most recent meeting was a 118-112 Oklahoma City Thunder home win on Dec. 22. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 32 points for OKC, which City trailed by 18 points in the second quarter. Gilgeous-Alexander made 12 of 25 field goals. Dennis Schroder scored 16 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter and Steven Adams added 20 points and 17 rebounds. Paul George, traded to the Clippers this past summer, had 18 points, but he made just 6 of 17 shots and had five turnovers. Kawhi Leonard sat out because of left knee soreness. Lou Williams scored 22 points for Los Angeles, and Montrezl Harrell had 18. Thunder guard Chris Paul played six seasons for the Clippers (2011-17), and is the franchise’s all-time leader in assists (4,023).

Why Bet on LA Clippers?

The Clippers (40-19) won a fourth in a row Sunday, 136-130 over the 76ers. The Clippers trailed by two at halftime but took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Sixers 38-24. Doc Rivers got his 935th victory, which moved him into a tie with Dick Motta for 12th on the NBA’s career wins list

The Clippers had four players score at least 24 points for only the second time in franchise history. The last time the Clippers had four players with 24 or more points was an April 1989 game against the Lakers. It is the second time this season the Clippers have had four players with at least 20 points.

Kawhi Leonard went 10-of-20 from the field and 8-of-9 from the line on his way to 30 points. Leonard added six rebounds, three assists and one steal. It was the 12th time this season that the Clippers have scored at least 130 points, which accounts for the most 130-point performances in the league. Paul George finished with 24 points, four rebounds and two steals.

Lou Williams came off the bench for 24 points and eight assists. Montrezl Harrell scored 24 points with nine rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench. The 64.3% free throw shooter went 10-of-13 from the charity stripe.

When Leonard and George both play this season, the Clippers have the second-best point differential in the league, ahead of the Lakers and behind only the record-pace Bucks. The Clippers have faced tougher competition with both stars available. Their opponents with Leonard and George have cumulatively been 1.2 points better than average; their opponents with one star or neither have been 0.7 points worse than average.

Why Bet on Oklahoma City?

OKC (37-23) had a five-game winning streak snapped in a 133-86 destruction at Milwaukee last Friday. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 32 points and 13 rebounds and Milwaukee surged to a 24-point lead in the second quarter; the 47-point margin was the Bucks’ largest of the season — and the Thunder’s worst of the season.

Both teams were without their second-leading scorers. Bucks All-Star Khris Middleton was a late scratch with a sore neck. An ankle injury kept Thunder forward Danilo Gallinari out. Gallinari logged 34 minutes in Thursday’s victory over the Kings, which was the first time he’s played more than 33 minutes in a game since Jan 20 so it was just a day of rest Friday really.

Chris Paul scored 18 points for Oklahoma City. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 11 and no one else had more than nine points. The Thunder had won nine straight road games, a franchise record.

The Thunder have been a great team late. They have won 15 games in which they have been trailing entering the fourth quarter. No other team in the league has won more than eight such games. Oklahoma City has come back from 15+ down in the fourth on the road to earn the win three times.

Thunder rookies Darius Bazley and two-way player Luguentz Dort have started in a collective 25 games for Oklahoma City this season, earning a 20-5 record as Bazley is 7-1 when starting and Dort holds a 13-4 record.

Bucks vs Heat 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

This could be a potential Eastern Conference semifinals or finals preview depending on which side of the bracket Miami lands on — Milwaukee is a lock to be the East’s top seed. The Heat haven’t been home underdogs on the Mybookie NBA odds much this season but might be Monday unless the Bucks are without their two stars, which is possible. Let’s see how the NBA odds will be for the Bucks vs Heat.

Bucks vs Heat 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Bucks vs Heat Season Series

Heat lead 1-0, winning 131-126 in overtime in Milwaukee way back on Oct. 26. The Bucks blew a 21-point third quarter lead. Goran Dragic scored 25 points off the bench, and Bam Adebayo added 19 points and 13 rebounds for Miami, which was without star Jimmy Butler. After trailing 74-53 with less than 11:00 to play in the third quarter, the Heat outscored Milwaukee 78-52 the rest of the way, including 49-33 in the fourth quarter and overtime. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 29 points, 17 rebounds and nine assists, but he eight turnovers and fouled out with 2:31 to play in overtime. The Greek Freak sent it to OT with a tip in at the buzzer. Khris Middleton added 25 points for the Bucks.

Why Bet on Milwaukee?

The Milwaukee Bucks won their sixth in a row Sunday, 93-85 at Charlotte. The reason there was no early line on this game is because Bucks All-Star guard Khris Middleton missed that one with neck soreness and obviously his status will affect this line. Kyle Korver also sat Sunday but he’s not that big of a deal.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 41 points, 20 rebounds and six assists in the win. Charlotte hung tough until the final two minutes, when Antetokounmpo took over. Antetokounmpo’s 20 rebounds were one shy of his career high. The Bucks outrebounded the Hornets 61-47.

The Greek Feak did appear to tweak something during the fourth quarter when he got tangled up with Devonte’ Graham, so it’s possible he’ll need to skip Monday’s game. That would affect the spread even more. Brook Lopez added 16 points and seven rebounds for the Bucks, who’ve won 20 of their last 22 games and improved to a league-best 52-8 on the season.

Milwaukee remains on pace to become just the third team all-time to win 70 games. The Bucks are a perfect 17-0 in the first and second games of back-to-backs so far this season. That’s incredible. The Bucks are also tied with the Lakers for the best road record in the league this season at 25-5.

Not only have the Bucks won 52 of their first 60 games to the start the season, but they’re outscoring their opponents by an NBA-high 12.8 points per game so far this season after leading the league in that same category last season (8.9). Their 12.8-point differential currently the largest points per game differential in NBA history.

Why Bet on Miami?

The Miami Heat won their second in a row Saturday, 116-113 over the visiting Nets. Rookie Kendrick Nunn scored 21 points with four rebounds. Nunn, an undrafted free agent, broke Mario Chalmers’ franchise record for most 3-pointers by a rookie in a season. He’s averaging 19.8 points over his past five games and shooting 54 percent from the field.

All-Star Bam Adebayo made 7-of-12 from the field and both free throws for 16 points along with 12 boards. In February, the break out star averaged 17.2 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists. Adebayo has a team-leading 36 double-doubles this season.

Goran Dragic chipped in 19 points and 10 assists in the win as the Heat won consecutive games for the first time since Feb. 1-3. They finished 6-7 in February, which included losses to two of the league’s worst teams in Minnesota and Cleveland.

Miami’s sixth field-goal attempt Saturday night was the team’s 5,000th of the season. Every other team reached 5,000 shots before Saturday, and the Heat are taking the fewest field-goal attempts per game in the league so far this season. The Heat recorded 27 assists as a team, snapping a streak of four straight games of posting at least 30 in a game. The franchise record was five straight set in 1990.

Rookie Tyler Herro sat out again Saturday with right ankle soreness. Herro has upped his work in practice recently, but he’s still not quite ready to return to action. Miami has recorded a +10.0 scoring margin at home this season, the third-highest in the NBA, outscoring opponents by +291 (4th-best).  Miami has totaled 6,767 points this season, the most through the first 60 games of a season in franchise history.

The Heat are 69-44 all-time vs. the Bucks during the regular season, including 35-20 in Miami.
