Chelsea will meet with Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter on Wednesday and are prepared to pay his release clause in order to appoint the Englishman as Thomas Tuchel's successor, sources told David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The Blues fired the German bench boss earlier Wednesday after a rocky start to the new season.

Both Brighton and Potter signed off on the meeting with the west London club, Ornstein adds. The burgeoning tactician has a £16-million release clause in his contract, according to Julien Laurens of ESPN.
