Matt Duchene scored twice as the Dallas Stars cruised to an 8-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night, wrapping up their West Coast road trip in dominant fashion. Duchene’s goals came for the second consecutive game, and he was part of an offensive explosion where six different Stars players recorded at least two points. Casey DeSmith made 23 saves to secure the win.

The game started with the Sharks taking an early 2-0 lead, thanks to goals from William Eklund and Fabian Zetterlund. However, the Stars quickly responded with Duchene’s goal and Jason Robertson’s rebound goal, which tied the game at 2-2. Dallas then took control with Mason Marchment, Duchene, Mavrik Bourque, Wyatt Johnston, and Thomas Harley each scoring, while Jamie Benn added a late goal to seal the win.

The Stars dominated the game with a 34-26 shot advantage and capitalized on their power play, going 1-for-2, while the Sharks failed to score on their two power-play opportunities.

Both teams now have a break before resuming play later this month. The Stars will face the Devils in New Jersey, while the Sharks head to Calgary.
