Tua Tagovailoa had several fans concerned Sunday when he made a dangerous tackle in his team’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. The Miami Dolphins quarterback himself, however, felt like it was a laughing matter.

The Dolphins beat the Rams 23-15 in their Week 10 matchup at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. While Tagovailoa mostly looked fine in his third week back from his last head injury, his scare on the defensive end had Dolphins fans holding their breath.

During the second quarter of the contest, Tagovailoa threw a pass to Jaylen Waddle that was picked off by Rams defender Christian Rozeboom. The Rams linebacker charged down the sideline for additional yardage. The Dolphins QB tried to stop him with a low tackle that led to Rozeboom’s knee slamming into Tagovailoa’s helmet (video here).

During his postgame press conference, Tagovailoa was all smiles once the media asked him about the dangerous-looking tackle.

“I feel good. Everything’s good,” said Tagovailoa after a hearty laugh. “I wasn’t planning on using my head. I didn’t feel any of that. Pretty bad tackling form, though. That was pretty terrible.”

Tagovailoa added that he talked to Rozeboom after the game and playfully asked why the latter didn’t just go out of bounds. But Tua added that he respects Rozeboom’s effort to help the Rams gain more ground.

Tagovailoa went 20/28 for 207 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also has one solo tackle to his name that Dolphins fans probably wish he never recorded.
