Miles Wood said he slept great, has high energy and is good to go against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday after a scary incident took him out of the 5-3 loss to the Boston Bruins.

“I passed it over to OC (Logan O’Connor) and did not see him (Bruins forward Elias Lindholm) at all. He kind of came from behind me there and caught me on my blind side. I had excruciating stomach pain like I’ve never felt before, and it was just, don’t know what exactly happened, but all the scans came back, and I’m good to go,” Wood said after morning skate.

The 29-year-old forward left the game and did not return after the hit. Head coach Jared Bednar did not have an update following the loss but confirmed after practice the next day that Wood was not injured and would likely play against the Ducks.

Wood had one shot on goal in 12:46 of ice time and also played 1:48 on the penalty kill. The Avs were 3-for-3 on the power play and allowed two goals on four penalty kills.

“I think our defensive zone has been outstanding all game or all year. There’s some breakdowns that have led to goals, but I think for the most part, that’s been our strength, and just trying to build on that,” Wood said.

Bednar said his top six will be Ross Colton — Nathan MacKinnon — Mikko Rantanen and Nikolai Kovalenko — Casey Mittelstadt — Logan O’Connor, which puts Wood on the third line with Parker Kelly and Calum Ritchie.
