Miami Hurricanes vs. Louisville Cardinals

Saturday, October 19, 2024 – 12:00 PM ET at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium

Miami Can’t Keep Escaping

The Miami Hurricanes escaped the Virginia Tech Hokies and California Bears in two consecutive games.

There are arguments in both games where you can say that Miami was gifted the game on bad calls by referees and whatnot.

In reality, a team that keeps living on the edge like this isn’t a Top-10 team in the nation. While Miami has been tested, Louisville is the biggest test of the year.

The Hurricanes are getting massive production from Cam Ward. He’s a Heisman candidate after already throwing for 2219 yards and 20 touchdowns. But he’s also made some mistakes with turnovers, giving up five interceptions.

Louisville will still welcome Ward’s throws. They’ll just need to capitalize on a couple of mistakes.

Louisville At Home Is Dangerous

The Louisville Cardinals lost two consecutive games until last week’s win against Virginia. Despite an earlier loss against SMU, the Cardinals are still very dangerous at home.

This is a team that knocked off Notre Dame on its home field last year and played for the ACC Championship just a year ago.

They did that with Jack Plummer under center. Now they’ve got Tyler Shough, who has thrown 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions this season. He’s been so much better than Plummer to begin the season.

NCAAF Computer Pick

Therefore, I’ll grab Slough and Louisville to take care of business at home. It’s never easy for teams to come into Louisville and get a win.

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Tennessee Volunteers

Saturday, October 19, 2024 – 03:30 PM ET at Neyland Stadium

Is Alabama Okay?

After epically knocking off Georgia, the Crimson Tide lost to Vanderbilt and defeated South Carolina at home.

This isn’t a Nick Saban-led Alabama team, and close games are more likely moving forward. But Alabama should still be the better offense heading into this week’s matchup against Tennessee on the road.

After all, Jalen Milroe has thrown for 12 touchdowns and has rushed for another 11. He’s a Heisman candidate and will battle a weaker Tennessee defense, rushing the passer. Tennessee does some really good things defensively, but Milroe should be able to escape pressure and make plays. It’s what he’s done all year long.

It’s why he’s a Heisman candidate.

Tennessee Doesn’t Have Milroe

Alabama and Tennessee are very similar. It’s why they’re both Top 10 teams heading into this week. That said, Tennessee’s offense just doesn’t move the needle enough.

They’ve boosted their offensive stats with wild games against North Carolina State, Kent State, and Chattanooga. After all, Tennessee struggled to score at home against Florida last week and only scored 14 against Arkansas in the previous week.

Nico Iamaleava is no Milroe. That’ll be a problem on Saturday.

NCAAF Computer Pick

Let’s back Alabama at -1.5 per the AI Model.

LSU Tigers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks

Saturday, October 19, 2024 – 07:30 PM ET at Razorback Stadium

LSU Is Finally Well-Balanced

The LSU Tigers defeated the Ole Miss Rebels in Week 6 with a 29-26 overtime victory. The Tigers never led in the entire game but took their first lead at the perfect time.

The LSU defense lost Harold Perkins, but the injury made the Tigers better. Perkins always tried different positions and kept the defense more off-balanced than the offense.

LSU is now 5-0 since losing to USC in Week 1 and is already 2-0 in SEC play. This LSU squad already has a road victory against South Carolina.

Expect LSU’s pass rush to get to the quarterback countless times in this one.

Coming Off A Massive Upset

Arkansas is coming off a massive 19-14 upset over Tennessee. But after Tennessee barely scraped by Florida last week, the hype for Arkansas might be down slightly.

The Razorbacks haven’t scored more than 19 points in two consecutive games and will now face a rejuvenated LSU defense. As long as LSU can stop the run against Ja’Quindon Jackson, the Tigers will pull out of Arkansas with a win and a cover.

NCAAF Computer Pick

Grab LSU -4.5 (-110). Brian Kelly continues to amaze.
