Joe Ryan’s On The Mound
The Minnesota Twins will pitch Joe Ryan. He’s a right-handed starter who has earned nearly 27% of strikeouts over the last 30 days. In addition, Ryan has held walks to 2.4% and has given up just a .290 wOBA to his previous 124 batters.
He’ll take on a Giants projected lineup that has struck out nearly 26% of the time. Although the top of the lineup has good power numbers against righties, even if Ryan allows some power, it’ll likely come with nobody on base. He’ll limit the damage.
Can’t Trust Kyle Harrison
On the other hand, the Giants will throw Kyle Harrison, who is lefty. Harrison has allowed a .163 ISO and wOBA of .338 to his last 350 batters. He’s also allowed a .250 ISO and wOBA of .443 since returning to the mound the previous week.
Minnesota’s offense has slugged a .218 ISO and wOBA of .471 against lefties over the last month. They’ve got the edge in this one.
