Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has no plans of leaving the team that drafted him. But Parsons appears to have one team on his radar if ever the time comes.

Parsons sat out the team’s voluntary offseason workouts, which sparked speculation on whether the Cowboys star was frustrated with his contract situation.

On Tuesday, Parsons returned to the field for the Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp. The 25-year-old spoke to reporters after practice and explained that he skipped OTAs for additional rest and not as some form of protest.

Parsons still has two years on his contract, including his 5th-year option.

Parsons also assured reporters that he wanted to stay with the Cowboys for the long haul. However, he did offer up a hypothetical team he’d consider joining later in his career: the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Parsons added that he would prefer to join the Steelers over the Philadelphia Eagles partly because the former is coached by Mike Tomlin.

Parsons grew up in Pennsylvania and played college football for Penn State. The idea of a homecoming late in his NFL journey doesn’t appear to be out of the question for the Harrisburg native.

While Parsons’ absence at OTAs wasn’t contracted-related, the same could not be said about wide receiver CeeDee Lamb’s no-show. Both Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott are both reportedly angling for new deals.
