The Angels’ Righties Can Do Damage

With Matthew Liberatore on the mound, the Angels’ projected lineup has some good matchups. Liberatore is a lefty who has allowed a .167 ISO and wOBA of .362 to his first 49 righties. Even last year, he gave up a .182 ISO and OBA of .373 to 219 righties.

The Angels’ right-handed bats have added a .336 wOBA against lefties and have minimized strikeouts to 19.4%.

Look out for Taylor Ward, Kevin Pillar and Jo Adell in this Angels lineup.

Soriano Is No Better

On the other hand, the Angels will go with Jose Soriano. He’s added just 22.1% of strikeouts and has allowed a .311 wOBA to his first 145 batters.

There figures to be plenty of balls in play for the Cardinals, who still have five batters striking out below 22% of the time against righties.
