Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has sounded off on Travis Kelce throwing his helmet while on the sideline during the team’s recent loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Much like he tossed a replica of the Lombardi trophy earlier in the year, the star tight end was seen spiking his shell in frustration on Monday. Reid had to step in to calm his player down before sending him out on the field.

Asked about Travis’ actions, Reid downplayed the incident, claiming the pass-catcher went back out to do a “nice job” despite the loss.

“He went back in and did a nice job,” the HC said. “Things happen. Emotional game. Travis is emotional, and sometimes my red hair gets to me a little bit. But it all works out.”

The Chiefs fell to 9-6 on the back of the 20-14 result, also missing out on an opportunity to clinch the AFC West. Kelce, who made just five catches for 44 yards, has since admitted that his coach was just covering for him as he knows he did not do a great job when he went back out there.
