A former NFL player and Super Bowl champion has been arrested for some disturbing crimes.

Derrick Ward has been arrested on felony charges stemming from allegedly committing multiple robberies across the Los Angeles area, according to TMZ Sports.

He is accused of robbing several businesses, including gas stations, using “force and fear”.

The 43-year-old was arrested about noon Monday by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division. He was booked Monday evening with bail set at $250,000.

Ward was a seventh-round Draft pick by the New York Jets in 2004, but he made his name during his tenure as a member of the New York Giants. Ward was a member of the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII-winning team in 2007 that defeated the New England Patriots in an improbable Super Bowl upset — the Patriots’ only loss of the 2007 season.

His biggest moment was of him in the 2008 season when he ran for 215 yards, clinching the No. 1 seed in the NFC for the Giants with a 34-28 victory.

Ward would then play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans before retiring in 2012.

Ward played in 93 NFL games, rushed for 2,628 yards, and scored 12 touchdowns.
