Our NFL picks against the spread for Week 13 includes some absolutely huge games as the NFL schedule turns to December and the stretch run.

Will the San Francisco 49ers be able to go into Philadelphia and exact revenge against the Eagles after last season’s loss in the NFC Championship Game?

The red-hot Denver Broncos are set to take on the Houston Texans on the road. As three-point underdogs, can Russell Wilson lead his team to a sixth consecutive victory? We’re also intrigued to see what goes down Sunday night with the Green Bay Packers as touchdown underdogs at home against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Moving forward, we now look at Week 13 and what that slate has to offer for NFL picks.

Carolina Panthers (+5.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Dec. 3, 4:05 PM ET

Denver Broncos win sixth consecutive game

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Head coach Sean Payton and defensive coordinator Vance Joseph have something special going for the Broncos right now. They have won five consecutive games for the first time since 2016. This span has seen Denver yield an average of 16 points per outing while forcing a whopping 16 turnovers. Those are some insane numbers right there.

We like this matchup for Denver against a rookie quarterback. Sure, C.J. Stroud has looked like anything but that. Even then, the pressure these Broncos put on the signal caller could loom large as they go for their sixth consecutive win. That could very well be the difference here.

Carolina Panthers start new era with a win (NFL picks lock)

The past seven teams to fire their head coaches in-season boast a 4-3 record in their first game under a new interim coach. We saw that earlier in the season when Antonio Pierce led the Las Vegas Raiders to a win over the New York Giants following the firing of Josh McDaniels.

There is something to be said about renewed optimism and a different culture once an interim comes in. Chris Tabor will look to provide this for Carolina following the firing of Frank Reich on Monday.

We like his chances Week 13 against a struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that’s coming off an ugly loss to the Indianapolis Colts and has dropped six of the past seven games. Bryce Young will be working in a new system under coordinator Thomas Brown. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in that regard. But we’re going with Carolina in our NFL picks lock.

San Francisco 49ers with statement win over Philadelphia Eagles

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Once 4:25 PM ET comes around Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, all of the trash talk between these two teams will have died down. Instead, it will be all about whether San Francisco can exact revenge against Philadelphia after falling in last season’s NFC Championship Game.

We like the odds for Brock Purdy and Co. First off, Vegas having this as a mere 2.5-point line seems to suggest that bettors are prepared to back the road team. Secondly, indicators suggest that the 49ers are ripe for their fourth consecutive win.

Philadelphia has found itself down at halftime in each of the past four games. During their three-game winning streak, the 49ers have outscored their opponents 50-13 in the first half. Simply put, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles can’t expect to come back from another halftime deficit against a 49ers defense that is yielding the fewest points in the NFL at 15.5 per game.

It also must be noted that the 49ers are outscoring their opponents by a combined 72 points in road outings this season. Meanwhile, the Eagles’ point margin over their five home dates this season comes out to an average of less than a touchdown per compared to roughly the same figure on the road.

Green Bay Packers keep it close against defending champs

Lon Horwedel-USA TODAY Sports

Green Bay is in the midst of a stretch in which it has won three of four since starting 2-5 on the season. Its 29-22 win over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving kept the team very much alive in the NFC Playoff race. The Packers’ defense is also yielding an average of just 17 points per game during this span.

Sure, Kansas City broke out to the tune of 31 points against the overmatched Las Vegas Raiders last week. But that came against a struggling team. It also came following a three-game stretch in which the Chiefs’ offense did not score in the second half.

The Chiefs’ five road games this season have seen an average difference of just three points per outing. Simply put, Andy Reid’s squad is much different away from the friendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium. While we expect the defending champs to come out on top here, Green Bay should cover at Lambeau.
