NFL futures odds update: MVP, OROY and CPOY predictions & best bets ahead of Week 10

PICKWISE

Week 9 has come and gone, and we’re starting to see the pretenders and contenders show their colors. Players such as CJ Stroud and Joshua Dobbs have shot up in their respective categories, while Tua Tagovailoa and Bijan Robinson have slipped. So, let’s take a look at the current standings for the MVP, Offensive Rookie of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year with my best bet for each market ahead of Week 10.

NFL Most Valuable Player

It was a disappointing trip across the pond for the Dolphins, and Tua Tagovailoa’s MVP odds took a huge hit.

NFL MVP Odds

Patrick Mahomes +275
Jalen Hurts +300
Lamar Jackson +400
Tua Tagovailoa +600
Joe Burrow +900
Josh Allen +1400
Trevor Lawrence +2000
Christian McCaffrey +2800
Brock Purdy +4000
Jared Goff +4000

NFL MVP Best Bet: Joe Burrow (+900)

Just last week, I said Joe Burrow at +2000 is incredible value, and it won’t last much longer. Fast forward to today, and his odds have been cut in half. If you weren’t able to get in at 20/1, there’s still value at 9/1 because Burrow and the Bengals are on the rise, and they have a date with the Texans in Week 10. And even though his odds have been cut in half, he is still my pick heading into Week 10. Burrow has been one of the best quarterbacks in football in the last few weeks, and it seems his calf injury has finally healed which has allowed him to step up in the pocket and play like the Burrow we’ve all learned to love. If Burrow has another solid performance against the Texans on Sunday, I wouldn’t be surprised to see his odds lower than Tagovailoa’s.

NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

It’s Week 10 of the NFL season, and the race for the Offensive Rookie of the Year might be over.

NFL OROY Odds

C.J. Stroud -500
Puka Nacua +700
Jahmyr Gibbs +1400
Bijan Robinson +2200
Jordan Addison +2500
Will Levis +3000
De’Von Achane +3000
Zay Flowers +4000
Bryce Young +5000
Rashee Rice +5000

NFL OROY Best Bet: CJ Stroud (-500)

CJ Stroud had the best performance of his professional career on Sunday. During Houston’s 39-37 win over the Buccaneers, Stroud threw for 470 yards with 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Noah Brown, Dalton Schultz and Tank Dell all finished with over 100 receiving yards as Stroud was shredding the Tampa Bay secondary throughout the game. And to top it all off, Stroud’s 470 passing yards is a new record for passing yards in a game by a rookie. It will be hard to beat his Week 9 performance, but Stroud has clearly separated himself from every other rookie in the class.

NFL Comeback Player of the Year

The top two favorites for this award have been the same since Week 1, but there are a few new faces at the top of the list, including the new Vikings quarterback, Joshua Dobbs.

NFL CPOY Odds

Damar Hamlin -115
Tua Tagovailoa +175
Joshua Dobbs +800
Lamar Jackson +1000
Breece Hall +1000
T.J. Watt +2200
Aaron Rodgers +2800
Matthew Stafford +3000
Baker Mayfield +3000
Chase Young +3000

NFL CPOY Best Bet: Joshua Dobbs (+800)

Week 9 didn’t feature many exciting games, but Sunday Night Football made up for the lackluster afternoon slate. Josh Allen and the Bills traveled to Cincinnati to take on Burrow and the Bengals, and the last time these teams met in Ohio, Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field. It was a very emotional week for Hamlin, and to no surprise, he did not suit up for the game. There’s a chance that Hamlin won’t see game action this entire season, and if that happens, it would be very difficult for him to win this award. If he does play in the second half of the season – he’ll win.

But in case he doesn’t, I’m sprinkling some on Joshua Dobbs at +800. The former Cardinals quarterback has been phenomenal this season and was traded to the Vikings in the middle of last week, and instead of getting a week to prepare, Dobbs led the Vikings to a win without knowing any of his teammates’ names. He’s a serious contender for this award.
