PICKWISE

Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another marvellous Monday of sports. Well, it’s actually pretty quiet in terms of action with just Monday Night Football and an EPL soccer game taking place, but we could use a more chilled day after the drama of the Ryder Cup and the final day of the MLB regular season! Let’s get straight to making your next bet better.

About Last Night

  • Our handicappers are on a heater with their NFL predictions with an 11-3-1 record on our Week 4 spread and money line picks and going an amazing 5-0 on our NFL Best Bets!
  • The Chiefs and 49ers are joint-favorites for the Super Bowl at +550 odds with both FanDuel and DraftKings Sportsbooks after the 49ers beat the Cardinals 35-16 but the Chiefs had to work hard for a 23-20 win over the Jets on Sunday Night Football.
  • Our MLB cappers signed off from the regular season on a high note with a 7-3 day. The Astros beat the Diamondbacks 8-1 to clinch the AL West, assisted by a 1-0 win for the Mariners over the Rangers. The Rays, Rangers and Blue Jays will join the Twins in the AL wild-card series starting tomorrow, while the Phillies, Marlins and Diamondbacks are the NL wild-card teams joining the Brewers in action this week.
  • The Braves are +260 odds World Series favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook, with the Dodgers at +410 and the Astros available at +480.
  • Our golf expert Diane Knox Balas’ Ryder Cup pick of Europe at +125 odds cashed as the home team clinched a 16.5-11.5 win in Rome. Her prop picks of  Max Homa at +900 odds to be top US points scorer and Robert MacIntyre to be top European rookie at +350 were also winners.

Best Bet of the Day

NFL: New York Giants vs Seattle Seahawks over 47 points (-110)

These teams just can’t get stops, and it’s hard for a game to not go over when neither team’s defense can get off the field. The Seahawks rank 29th in the NFL in team defense and just gave up 27 points at home to Andy Dalton – and that was the fewest points they’ve allowed all season. They’re also 31st against the pass. The Giants are 30th in the NFL in points allowed, giving up 32.7 per game. Both offenses should find success early and often in this matchup. Check out our full Seahawks vs Giants predictions.

Stat of the Day

The over is 7-3 in the Seahawks’ last 10 road games.

Quote of the Day

“I lost us that game, and I can’t do that.”

— A costly late fumble ruined what had been a much-improved performance from Jets QB Zach Wilson against the Chiefs.
