Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another super Sunday of sports. We have plenty of afternoon action on today’s MLB slate and there’s also an NFL preseason game, EPL and NASCAR on the schedule today, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better.

About Last Night

THREE parlays cashed in the last 2 days!
After hitting TWO MLB parlays on Friday, we were back at the payout window yesterday as our Saturday MLB parlay hit at +423 odds. The Phillies beat the Nationals 12-3 with Trea Turner pulling off the incredible feat of hitting two home runs in the same inning as his team scored 8 runs in the 8th. The Red Sox’ Luis Urias also pulled off a rarity, hitting grand slams on consecutive pitches with his blast in the 2nd inning of the 8-1 win over the Yankees having also done so in his previous plate appearance against Washington on Thursday.

Today’s Slate

Braves vs Mets on Sunday Night Baseball
Today’s baseball slate was reduced to 12 games when 3 games were brought forward to Saturday but there’s still plenty to look forward to. The action starts early with Mariners vs Astros at 1:05 pm ET on Peacock and runs through to Phillies vs Nationals on Sunday Night Baseball at 7:00 pm ET on ESPN. There’s NFL, soccer and NASCAR too

There’s more NFL preseason action today with a Saints vs Chargers matchup, while there are 2 EPL soccer games including West Ham vs Chelsea at 11:30 am ET on USA Network, so be sure to check out our soccer picks. There’s also a NASCAR race at the historic Watkins Glen venue and we have expert advice for the Go Bowling at the Glen event.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Baltimore Orioles -1.5 over Oakland Athletics
4:07 pm ET

The Baltimore Orioles are looking for a road sweep today against the Oakland Athletics. The A’s have lost 8 of their last 10 games and allowed their opponents to score at least 6 runs in 5 of the last 6. The Orioles scored 7 last night and 9 in the opener and we could see a similar outcome today as the Athletics are starting JP Sears to start. The Athletics have lost 6 of the last 7 games that Sears has started. The Os have defeated the Athletics in 5 of their 6 games this season, taking 4 by a margin of at least 4 runs.

Stat of the Day

Kyle Larson has won his last 2 NASCAR races at Watkins Glen.

Quote of the Day

“I knew when they put it on the scoreboard that I had set a record for a four-game span. Before that, I didn’t know.”

The Mariners’ Julio Rodriguez broke an MLB record that had stood since 1925 when he recorded his 17th hit in a 4-game span in his team’s 10-3 win over the Astros.
