The New York Rangers aren't wasting any time reaching out to former Nashville Predators head coach John Hynes about their own vacancy in the role.

The Predators gave the Rangers permission to contact Hynes, reports the New York Post's Mollie Walker. Nashville general manager Barry Trotz fired Hynes on Tuesday and replaced him with Andrew Brunette.
