The San Jose Sharks have a new goaltender…for next year, that is.

Magnus Chrona, fresh off a successful four-year run with the University of Denver Pioneers, highlighted by a 2022 NCAA championship, has signed a two-year contract with the Sharks beginning with the 2023-24 season.

Chrona, as an NCAA prospect, would’ve become a free agent on Aug. 15 if he and the Sharks had failed to reach an agreement. The 22-year-old joins Kaapo Kahkonen as the only goalies in the San Jose organization signed for 2023-24 as of now.
