A four-team trade involving the Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, and Detroit Pistons could fall through due to a failed physical from Gary Payton II, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania and Anthony Slater.

Payton, traded Thursday from the Blazers to the Warriors, has a core muscle injury that could sideline him for up to three months, according to Charania and Slater.

The guard reportedly played through pain in Portland and was given Toradol shots and told by the organization to fight through the injury.
