About Last Night

LeBron breaks the record
All eyes were on LeBron James last night as he chased the 36 points he needed to overhaul Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 38,387, which he set in 1989. LBJ got the job done with 38 points, although the Lakers lost 133-130 to the Thunder. Elsewhere, the Suns beat the Nets 116-112 and the Nuggets crushed the Timberwolves 146-112.

Sharks bite the Lightning
Three of Tuesday’s 6 NHL games went to overtime, including a 4-3 upset win for the Sharks over the Lightning. There were also big wins for the Islanders, 4-0 against the Kraken, and the Golden Knights, who beat the Predators 5-1.

Today’s Slate

9-game slate in the NBA
Today’s 9-game NBA slate includes 2 games on ESPN with the 76ers facing the Celtics at 7:30 pm ET. The Mavericks then play the Clippers at 10:00 pm ET.

Wild vs Stars on TNT
There are just 2 NHL games today but that includes a Wild vs Stars matchup on TNT at 8:30 pm ET.

Best Bet of the Day

NBA: Sacramento Kings -8 over Houston Rockets
8:00 pm ET, NBCS CA & ATTSN SW

The Sacramento Kings are looking to repeat Monday’s 140-120 win over Houston and sweep the regular-season series as the teams play for the fourth time tonight. None of the previous meetings were competitive as Sacramento won by 20, 25 and 20 points. The Rockets have won just 3 times in their last 20 games and they’ve gone 2-14 SU in their last 16 at Toyota Center. The Kings need the win to ease the pressure from the Clippers, who are just a game behind them in the standings and they should do so comfortably.
