About Last Night

Hornets make lightning-fast start to beat Bucks
The Hornets were not hanging around in their game against the Bucks last night, equalling Golden State’s NBA record by scoring 51 points in the first quarter of their 138-109 win. Milwaukee had been a 10-point favorite for the game. The Nuggets beat the Cavaliers and the Nets beat the Pelicans in other notable results.

Solid day in the NHL parlay
We went 4-2 on our Friday NHL picks, while Mark Lammey had a 2-0 night with our hockey player props, putting us on a 4-0 streak and 10-3 over the last week. The Jets beat the Lightning 4-2, while the Ducks beat the Sharks 5-4 in the day’s only overtime game.

Big win for California
Our sole NCAAB pick on Friday won comfortably as 8-point underdog California beat Stanford 92-70. We were also 1-0 on soccer as Manchester United covered a -1 spread in a 3-1 FA Cup win over Everton.

Best Bet of the Day

NCAAB: Kansas Jayhawks -1.55 over West Virginia Mountaineers
6:00 pm ET, ESPN+

The battle-tested Kansas Jayhawks picked up a huge 75-72 win on the road against Texas Tech on Tuesday. While it’s a tall order traveling to Lubbock, back to Lawrence and then off to Morgantown, Kansas has not blinked an eye this season when facing similar tasks. Kansas is 2-0 SU/ATS in two true road games this season, while going 5-1 SU and 3-3 ATS in 6 games off campus. The defending champs have been doing it with timely offense and solid defense. The Mountaineers have picked up 10 wins, but are on a 2-game losing streak after road losses at Kansas State and Oklahoma State. While West Virginia is 7-0 SU at home this season, it is just 4-3 ATS, failing to cover in the past 2 games and has played weak opposition. Facing Kansas will be a giant step up.
