Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed forward Joe Pavelski to a one-year contract extension through the 2023-24 season. The one-year contract is worth a base of $3.5 million, plus an additional $2 million in potential performance bonuses.

Pavelski, 38, has appeared in all 38 games during the 2022-23 season, ranking third on the team in points (12-25-37), second in assists (25) and tied for second in power-play goals (7) and ranking fourth in goals (12). His +23 plus-minus rating paces the team and ranks second in the NHL.

Since joining the Stars prior to the 2019-20 season, Pavelski leads the club in points (78-122-200), assists (122), plus-minus rating (+62) and power-play goals (38), while sharing first in even-strength points (40-88-128) and ranking third in goals (78). Additionally, he leads the team with 16 goals and ranks second with 25 points (16-9-25) in 34 Stanley Cup Playoff games, helping the team reach the postseason in two of the past three seasons. During the 2021-22 campaign, Pavelski was named to the 2022 NHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas and was named the Central Division captain.
