The Edmonton Oilers and the New Jersey Devils meet in NHL action from the Prudential Center on Monday night.

The Edmonton Oilers will try to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last six games after a 4-3 OT win over Vegas last time out. Connor McDavid leads the Oilers with 34 points including a team-high 16 goals and 18 assists while Leon Draisaitl has 30 points with a team-high 20 assists. Zach Hyman has 19 points with 9 goals and 10 assists while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has 20 points with 8 goals and 12 assists. Jack Campbell’s posted a record of 6-4 with a 4.27 GAA and an .873 save percentage while Stuart Skinner’s gone 4-4 with a 2.52 GAA and a .930 save percentage in goal for Edmonton this season.

The New Jersey Devils will be out to extend their double-digit win streak after a 5-1 win over Ottawa last time out. Jesper Bratt leads the Devils with a team-high 15 assists as part of his 22 points while Nico Hischier has logged 19 points with a team-high 9 goals and 10 assists. Dougie Hamilton has 14 points as well with 5 goals and 9 assists while Jack Hughes has 19 points with 7 goals and 12 assists. Mackenzie Blackwood has gone 4-2 with a 2.79 GAA and an .880 save percentage while Vitek Vanecek is 8-1 with a 2.15 GAA and a .916 save percentage of his own this season.

Edmonton is 5-2 in their last 7 road games and 2-5 in their last 7 Monday games while the over is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games against the Metropolitan division. New Jersey is 15-1 in their last 16 games overall and 13-3 in their last 16 games following a win while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win.

I get the case to be made for Edmonton as New Jersey’s winning streak can’t last forever. However, the Devils are playing too well to step in front of right now, and while the Oilers will always have a shot with a guy like Connor McDavid in the lineup, the reality is that the goaltending hasn’t been all that consistent and may have issues against even, and I can’t believe I’m saying it, the Devils. Give me the New Jersey Devils here.
