Things are not always as they seem. We won’t delve into conspiracy theories at NBA Analysis.

There are enough NBA players who are willing to do that for you. Suffice it to say, you can’t always trust your eyes.

That holds true when surveying the NBA, as well. A team may be surging now, but don’t assume they’ll stay hot for an entire season. The same holds true for bottom dwellers – they may still work their way up the standings.

For example, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been very disappointing this season. At 5-8, they’re far from the contending team many hoped they’d be this year. With that said, they’ve still got plenty of time to right the ship.

On the other hand, if they don’t, they could make major changes at some point in the season.

If they decide to do so, here’s a deal that sends Karl-Anthony Towns to the Phoenix Suns.

Charlotte Hornets Receive: C Deandre Ayton

Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G Terry Rozier, G/F Mikal Bridges, F/C P.J. Washington, 2023 First-Round Pick (DEN via CHA), 2025 First-Round Pick (PHO), 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – CHA)

Phoenix Suns Receive: F/C Karl-Anthony Towns
