The New York Rangers and the Dallas Stars meet in NHL action from the American Airlines Center on Saturday afternoon.

The New York Rangers come into this game looking to snap a four-game losing streak after a 3-0 loss to the Islanders in their last game. Artemi Panarin has a team-high 12 points with 4 goals and 8 assists while Mika Zibanejad has 8 points with 4 goals and 4 assists. Adam Fox has 7 points with 5 assists while Vincent Trocheck has 6 points with 4 assists of his own. Igor Shesterkin has gone 3-0-2 with a 2.75 GAA and a .916 save percentage while Jaroslav Halak is 0-3 with a 3.69 GAA and an .867 save percentage so far this season.

The Dallas Stars will be out to build on their 2-0 win over the Washington Capitals last time out.  Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson each have a team-high 8 points, with Hintz logging a team-high 6 assists and Robertson posting 3 goals and 5 assists while Joe Pavelski has a team-high 4 goals and 7 points this season. Mason Marchment’s got 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists and Tyler Seguin’s posted 6 points as well with a pair of goals and 4 assists as well this season. Jake Oettinger’s gone 5-0 with a 1.17 GAA and a .960 save percentage while Scott Wedgewood is 0-1-1 with a 3.49 GAA and a .907 save percentage in goal for the Stars so far this season.

New York is 0-4 in their last 4 games overall and 1-5 in their last 6 road games while the over is 9-2 in their last 11 games following a loss by 3 or more goals. Dallas is 37-16 in their last 53 home games and 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Metropolitan division while the under is 6-1-2 in their last 9 games overall.

I get the case to be made for the Rangers here, but the Rangers are just playing bad hockey right now and despite their short-comings in spots, the Stars have been really effective on home ice this season. This may be a game that’s better left watched instead of bet, but for some early action, I’d lean towards the Stars in this one.
