Good morning, Pickswise Nation and welcome to the 2022 World Series. As well as Game 1 between the Phillies and Astros tonight, we also have NBA, NHL and college football games, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Buccaneers sink to 3-5
The Buccaneers’ shaky start to the season continued with a 27-22 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. The Bucs slipped to 3-5 in the standings, with the Ravens improving to 5-3. Despite their record, the Bucs remain favorites to win the NFC South at -150 odds with DraftKings Sportsbook.

NBA parlay cashes at +597 odds
It was a strong night for Pickswise in the NBA on Thursday. Our NBA parlay cashed at +597 odds and Germantas Kneita went 2-0 on our NBA player props. The Warriors improved to 3-2 with a 123-110 win over the Heat, while the Grizzlies kept the Kings winless in a 125-110 road win.

Ranked teams win, don’t cover
The two ranked college teams in action last night both won, but neither covered the spread, as Utah (-7.5) beat Washington State 21-17, while NC State (-13.5) had to rally to beat Virginia Tech by a single point, 22-21.

7-3 night in the NHL
The Pickswise NHL team went 7-3 on Thursday’s ML and puck line picks. The Bruins moved to 7-1 with a 5-1 win over the Red Wings, while the Canucks finally got their first win of the season over the Kraken.

Today’s Slate

Phillies and Astros ready for World Series
Game 1 of the World Series is finally here and the Phillies play the Astros at 8:03 pm ET on FOX. Read today’s MLB predictions.

11 NBA games tonight
After a quieter Thursday, we have an 11-game NBA slate tonight, with ESPN showing Pacers vs Wizards at 7:30 pm ET and Pelicans vs Suns at 10:00 pm ET.

Bruins vs Blue Jackets on NHL Network
There is a 6-game slate in the NHL tonight, with the Bruins playing back-to-back as they visit the Blue Jackets at 7:oo pm ET on NHL Network.

Friday night lights are on
College football is saving its best games for tomorrow, but there’s action tonight too, with East Carolina vs BYU on ESPN2 and Louisiana Tech vs FIU on CBSSN, with both games kicking off at 8:00 pm ET.

Best Bet of the Day

NBA: Over 226.5 points in Charlotte Hornets vs Orlando Magic
7:10 pm ET

Given they are the top-scoring team in the league, it is no surprise that the Hornets are a perfect 4-0 O/U. The Magic are just 2-3 O/U, but with the Hornets setting the pace we should see plenty of points. Charlotte is especially strong with perimeter scoring, but Paolo Banchero might have his highest-scoring game yet as the Hornets are not strong defensively anywhere, and certainly don’t have an ideal defender to deal with the rookie’s talent. In their lone home game this season, the Magic scored 120 against Boston. They should be able to post some points against Charlotte too.
