About Last Night
Suns roast NBA champions
There were only 4 NBA games on Wednesday but that was enough for some interesting results. The Phoenix Suns outshone NBA champions the Golden State Warriors in a 134-105 win, while the Oklahoma City Thunder got their first win — as 10-point underdogs — beating the Clippers 108-94.
NHL totals run reaches 15-5-1
The Pickswise team went 7-3 on our NHL over/under totals on Wednesday’s slate, taking our run over the last 3 days to 15-5-1. The 6-1-0 Bruins and 6-2-0 Golden Knights both registered their 6th wins of the season, beating the Stars 3-1 and the Sharks 4-2 respectively.
Champions League success
Our soccer expert went 3-1 on Tuesday’s Champions League best bets, including cashing our 3-star play on over 3.5 goals in RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid, which finished 3-2 to the German team.
Today’s Slate

Today’s 10-game NBA slate includes 2 games on ESPN with the Nets facing the Bucks at 7:30 pm ET. The 0-3 Lakers then go in search of their first win of the season again st the Nuggets at 10:00 pm ET.
TNT hockey doubleheader
There are only 3 NHL games today but that includes a TNT doubleheader featuring the Battle of New York between the Rangers and Islanders at 7:30 pm ET and Lightning vs Ducks at 10:00 pm ET.
Best Bet of the Day
NBA: Denver Nuggets -6 over Los Angeles Lakers
10:00 pm ET, ESPN
The Lakers are off to their worst start in years and could fall to 0-4 tonight. They are shooting just 40.7% from the field, which ranks dead last in the NBA. The Nuggets have also disappointed over the first 4 games of the season, going 2-2. They were beaten 135-110 by Portland but they have a perfect opportunity to bounce back against the struggling Lakers at home. The Nuggets are 8-3 SU in their last 11 games played on a Wednesday at Ball Arena. The Lakers are in trouble and things might not improve until they trade away Russell Westbrook.
Stat of the Day
The Hawks have covered the spread in just 2 of their last 8 games against the Pistons.
Quote of the Day
“After he got thrown out, he had a lot more to say, which I love.”
Steph Curry supported his Warriors teammate Klay Thompson, who was ejected for the first time in his career in the loss to the Suns.
