The New York Mets and the Oakland A’s meet in MLB action from Oakland Coliseum on Saturday.

The New York Mets will look to build on their 8-2 win over the A’s from Friday’s matchup. Francisco Lindor has 159 hits along with 25 home runs, 99 RBIs and a .270 batting average while Pete Alonso also has 150 hits, 37 home runs and 121 RBIs. Starling Marte has 136 hits, 24 doubles, 5 triples and 63 RBIs as well while Eduardo Escobar has 25 doubles as well as 4 triples and Brandon Nimmo has also chipped in 7 triples as well this season. Jacob deGrom will start here and is 5-2 with a 2.32 ERA and 86 strikeouts this season.

The Oakland A’s will try to bounce back from their defeat at the hands of the Mets from Friday’s game. Sheldon Neuse has 58 hits with 26 RBIs and a .214 batting average while Sean Murphy has 128 hits with 35 doubles and 18 home runs with 66 RBIs. Seth Brown’s also got a team-high of 23 home runs and 63 RBIs with 25 doubles as well this season. Ken Waldichuk will start here and is 0-2 with a 7.13 ERA and 17 strikeouts this season.

New York is 8-2 in their last 10 Saturday games and 4-1 in their last 5 road games while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a left-handed starter. Oakland is 21-47 in their last 68 home games and 6-14 in their last 20 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 interleague games.

I get the reasoning for backing either side here, as the A’s are getting a ton of plus money but the Mets are the better team with deGrom going here. Instead, I’m going to side with the over here as I expect Ken Waldichuk to get hit around a little bit but I also don’t expect Jacob deGrom to get out fully unscathed. I think this one finishes closer to 8 or 9 runs, so give me the over here.
