There have been a lot of discussions about what could happen between the Los Angeles Lakers and their starting point guard, Russell Westbrook. While all of the team’s struggles last NBA season cannot be placed on him, he did struggle to provide a positive impact on the court.

Westbrook needs to be in a specific environment to thrive and was unable to find a niche last season. He never looked comfortable, as his scoring output was his lowest since his second season in the NBA as he struggled to finish at the rim.

Efficiency wasn’t his only issue, as Westbrook was a sieve defensively as well. Providing very few positives on either end of the court, he rarely found common ground with head coach Frank Vogel.
