Karl-Anthony Towns signed a $224 million supermax extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves at the beginning of July. On Friday, the Timberwolves officially announced the agreement, with Towns speaking to the media. Here’s what the star big man had to say, per Timberwolves reporter Dane Moore.

Karl-Anthony Towns spoke on the supermax extension, saying that he is “privileged to call Minnesota home for many more years.” Towns will be under contract through the 2028 season. When he says many years, and many more after that, what exactly does he mean?

That’s right, Towns said his “dream” was to retire as a member of the Timberwolves, the team that drafted him back in 2015.
