When it comes to the New York Knicks, it feels like they’re constantly caught in a game of will-they-or-won’t-they when it comes to acquiring NBA stars.

The Knicks are usually linked to a star player or two. It just feels like they seldom actually acquire them. This summer, that star is Donovan Mitchell.

It’s recently been rumored that the Knicks are hesitant to pay the price they’d need to land Mitchell. That’s reasonable enough.

Players his age who will challenge for the scoring title are difficult to come by.

Having said that: shouldn’t the Knicks live a little? They just acquired Jalen Brunson. They already have Julius Randle. In adding Mitchell, they could be a serious player in the Eastern Conference in 2022-23.

If their front office comes to agree with that premise, here’s a deal that lands Mitchell on his hometown New York Knicks.
